Was a return visit and it holds up as my favorite music museum. International superstars are interspersed with Canadian stars this American isn’t familiar with. Very interactive; I could have spent all day learning guitar from Randy Bachmann video and playing with other instruments. Nice performance space for shows. A real gem

This experience exceeded our expectations. The displays upstairs are thoughtful and engaging. The small aquarium downstairs was fun to see too as we learned about the various fish. The highlight was the Fish Hatchery tour where we learned about the life cycle of fish and got to tour the facilities and feed the fish. This would definitely be awesome for families and kids of any age. We even had a blast as adults with our teen as we just love learning about animals and nature.

Many of the interactive items were very tire, worn out or missing parts.

    Staff were very helpful.
    Needs an upgrade.

Value for the price for 4 with extra parking charge a bit high.

Christmas Lights were a nice touch.

We went to the museum on a 6 degree F day. They have a very nice collection of aircraft including a Lancaster that appears could be a flyer. The biggest draw for me, they have a excellent and very large collection of aircraft engines on display. It is very reasonably priced at 12.00 Canadian. Everything is indoors. Only reason I did not give it a 5, not very big.

Unfortunately we couldn't see the museum as it's closed for the foreseeable future. However, we did go for a walk around the Olympic park. Saw the Sled run where the Jamaican sled team aimed for glory and learnt a bit about that episode. There's an ice area/training facility there which has some good info' in it.

Nice and interactive with lots to see and touch. It had lots of informative videos. We liked how practically everything had an interactive feature to it. My favorite was the real life video cams of intersection crashes and police stops. Worth the visit for sure!

Free parking is available downtown behind the museum for your visit to the Esker Foundation, and you can call and ask for a guided tour. The museum isn't large but combine your short visit at Esker with another activity in the heart of downtown Calgary. I am taking the Calgary Women's Walking and Friendship Group, a Meetup.com group.

I am planning my fourth visit taking friends to the museum. This is definitely a hidden gem and should be a go to place for locals and visitors alike.

Each artefact has an interesting story to tell. The artistry is amazing demonstrating the talent and ingenuity of the Tsuut’ina Nation. We learned the history of this original Dene people including the signing of Treaty 7, restrictions and limitations on reserve, importance of the preservation of language and customs, residential schools and so much more. Suggest booking a guided one hour tour to get the full benefit of this amazing museum. We have had Jonathon Crowchild who is amazing although I’m sure others are as well. We had an excellent dinner at the Grey Eagle Resort & Casino and others have had a very good lunch at the nearby recreation centre.

Parking can be a bit expensive for just visiting the University of Calgary or getting to this gallery. However, there are lots of transit connections. For my recent visit, I was dropped off, and so didn't have to worry about that expense. The Nickle Galleries can be counted on to present high quality, thought provoking work from contemporary artists. I had wanted to see the Diana Thorneycroft exhibit, but was very impressed with all the other works I was able to see on the way to her material. If you love contemporary art, this is a must see location!

A Calgary landmark: a magnificent gallery that glitters with colour. I am now the proud possessor of a Jim Norton glass bowl that I will treasure. Very knowledgable staff and wonderful selection of artefacts.
