Living in the area I have enjoyed this place for over 20 yrs due to the great location and service but cannot give more than 2 stars this time as the food was terrible. It is a place I have gone to often because it has a down home feel and while never has the food been excellent it has been edible. This time we were hard pressed to find anything without Mexican flavours. We had the Thurs/Fri/Sat special of BBQ ribs, potato salad and corn bread. The ribs were quite spicy with not a lot of meat. The potato salad was rock hard potato chunks covered with mayo and the corn bread had jalepino in it! Other dishes had chipotle mayo or more jalepinos. We were surprised at this change in the menu. Over the years we have experienced changes in the kitchen that were sometimes good and sometimes bad but we persevered because we love the ambiance and location and usually found that eventually it would get better. You can watch the game and shoot pool if you like. They tasted a bit like your average reheated packaged stuff The service was unremarkable. It wasn't that busy, and the waitresses seemed annoyed to be working at all. The seating was poorly laid out and the tables were small. I think I'd head downtown to oflannigans next time if I was looking for Thursday wings. The beer selection wasn't too exciting, and our pitcher came with warm glasses. The music is quite loud sometimes so you have to lean in to speak to your partner or friend. The service is pretty good. The chicken wing special are the best .
