We live in Kelowna in Black Mountain and we try to bring all of our guests to the restaurant for at least one meal during their stay.

The vegan calamari and salmon are always a winner. The staff are always friendly and Stephen, the owner, if heโ€™s around, will stop off at your table just to say hi. The organic Pinot Gris is very distinctive with an almost golden colour and it is very aromatic.

So why only a 4 star you ask. Communications when trying to make a reservation are next to zero. We have been turned away at the door because no one would pick up the telephone at the restaurant so we would drive down to the restaurant but we would always have a back up destination in mind which many times we have had to go to.

I suggest that maybe they could have a calendar on their web site for when they are hosting larger events to save guests from driving down and being turned away and disappointed.

Last night (25th) as usual the food was amazing and Lynne our server was great extremely personal, friendly and knowledgeable. Her manager was also there at a table and she took her ( The only server) away from her duties for an extended period of time to talk about work and this took her away from her duties so we just sat patiently and waited for her to finish so we could leave. We could here all of their conversation and it was quite peculiar that they would have a work update at the tables in a fine restaurant when we sat just 2 tables away.

Either way the food, wine and service was as always a solid 10, with the season winding down maybe Stephen and his mgmt team can look at their reservation process and the ability to communicate to customers if the restaurant is booked out for private events and therefore no walk in customers would be permitted.

Not the cheapest place in town but worth the trip. We will see you soon and hopefully they will post shortly if the restaurant is remaining open this winter season.

    Great job Stephen

We went there for a business meeting. While the shared platter style food was okay, the service was excellent and we loved the overall experience. Writing the review partly to show off couple of nice pictures that I took here.

Nice wines and nice view from the vineyards, however, there are other much better wineries in the area.

We went there for wine tasting and decided to stay for lunch. The tasting room people were super nice and knowledgeable, the wine delicious (would have bought a case if we could have brought it back easily In the US). I was a bit worried about the restaurant as I have a long list of allergies (pretty much similar to IBS, plus few more). The waitress was very aware of what was in each dish and was able to direct me towards what I could eat. Further, she had a special desert list I could have. I ended up with the Sea-bass with citrus and ailloli and spinach, and for dessert an amazing coconut lemon ice cream... and of course delicious wine. It was a bit expensive, but well priced for the quality of food and worth every cents.

What do you get when you combine a teacher, a doctor and a young inspired brew master all in an historic setting?? Welcome to Barn Owl Brewing Company!

Friends Tim Kramer and Gary Brucker unveiled their dream of a sustainable, community-focused craft brewery housed in the near century old Surtees family dairy barn in 2019. Merging the beauty of former Mission district countryside with modern touches this brewery is certainly the pulse of the neighborhood. Part coffee house, part brew house and completely unique and welcoming.

Ace-in-the-sleeve is bio Chem grad and former apprentice at an Island favourite Swans Brewery, Pub & Hotel Colin Pistawka who delivers a worldly palette of beers fit for novice to critic.

Perfect place for friends, date nights or special events like Chef Filatow of Waterfront Restaurant & Wine Bar hosting a beer paired dinner. ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿบ

Thank you Sarah and Vincent for the great suggestions and service! Great time!

We decided to visit this winery on our tour of 4 wineries during our stay. This is likely the best winery in the region (at least that I have discovered). There's a heft fee to taste but it's absolutely worth it. The wines are really, really, great, and very well-made. We had a tour with the GM and really enjoyed ourselves and the tour of the facility was fantastic. Their Pinot Noirs are exceptional, although expensive, one of the Rieslings is world-class and just outstanding. We were never rushed, and had a really great time. This is a must do for people who are into really great wine. It shows the promise of this area for Burgundian Grapes.

We stopped for an ice cream/gelato treat. So many wonderful flavour choices. It was hard to pick just one. Tastes fresh made. It was cool and a bit rainy so we didn't stay long, but they have a nice patio with chairs if the weather is pleasant.

Nice little park. Great views of the lake and the city from the beach and park. Really nice picnic spots and playgrounds. Definitely will be back again.

We went with a group of 23, in May, 2017. Good parking. A relatively easy 1 ยผ hour trek on marked pathway featuring amazing views of Okanagan Lake including walking along the base of a rock climbing mountain. Lots of informative signage and park benches and even an outhouse along the path. This is a major water runoff year so many times we were walking through shallow running water and around muddy areas. Would be better in June or later. Beware that the final 1.1 kilometres down Chute Road is gravel that is rutted in places, full of potholes and in May at least, water running across the road in places. Other than that, a worthy destination.

Depending on your timing, pick your own organic cherries, apricots, peaches, pears, prunes/plums and apples. Reasonable prices. Friendly service. Wish we lived closer!

I went to have a massage. The massage itself was alright, however protocol on how the massage was done was sub par. No review on what areas bothered me most, didn't lift the sheets to help me turn over. The person also didn't tell me when the service was over (as most massage therapists say "we're all done here, take your time getting up") , nor did they give me water after. I was offered water before but said I would like it after, and didn't get any.

Tim certified myself and a friend for Drysuit diving and we couldn't be more pleased. His instruction was clear and concise and puts a strong emphasis on real world situations that aren't always covered in the standard curriculum. Tim teaches the good habits and little things that aren't in the written curriculum that will ensure you're a safe, effective diver throughout your diving journey.

We had an amazing food tour with Taryn! She was personable, fun and very knowledgeable about the restaurants we went to. We did a wine and food tour and everything we tasted was perfect. I highly recommend this tour for any foodie and wine lover. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat. Best food tour company in Kelowna!!
