This is the best farmers market, the fruit and vegetables are very inexpensive and fresh. There is nothing better then strolling down main street on a Saturday, meeting locals and enjoying great food and warm weather.
Thank you to the vendors for all of your hard work

We were the only ones in the gallery, coming about an hour before closing. Enjoyed the main display that featured one artist, but found the other display of works by local highschool students even more interesting. Staff very friendly and approachable. I also want to give a pitch for their "First Friday" event which takes place the first Friday evening of each month, where local performers get to participate in an open mic to a receptive audience. Next one will be in September.

I have been visiting this gallery for years now and always find interesting art. I have also used their framing service and have always been very happy with the results. I especially enjoy Prema as she is so helpful.

My sister and I visited Leir House not only to tour it but also to attend the Penticton Arts Council Christmas Craft Show. After seeing the various items for sale, we took a self-tour inside the two-story house. We admired the decor including the hard wood floors and staircase up to the second floor. We learned that minimal changes have been made to the house since owned by Hugh Charles Leir and his family of eleven (11) children. The dumb waiter was removed when the kitchen was modernized. Posted information told us the history of Leir House that was built in 1927. In 1951, it was a nurses residence before becoming a Cultural Arts Centre in 1980. Rooms are available for rent and used for music and dramatic arts lessons as well as meetings, workshops and other special occasions. Leir House is the only stone-faced building in Penticton. We exited the house and walked the grounds, visiting the Gazebo that has grape vines for a roof. There is a small, stone building on the property that mimics the architecture of the bigger Leir House. The gardens are lovely with several older trees growing around the house. The lawns are meticulously groomed.

I was the first person to walk in the door that morning and the owner greeted me with enthusiasm and love of the artwork on display. Explained about her unique driftwood chair that sits outside the gallery and decor.

This place is a bit out of the way in the Cannery Trade Centre, however it's well worth seeking out. They have an extensive collection of art and collectibles that wouldn't be out of place in Vancouver. The place is a bit misleading because it looks like 2 small rooms from the front door but opens into a large back space and even an outside space as well. The ladies there seem quite knowledgable and will let you poke around the back if you ask.

There is also a huge fluffy silver cat you need to see to believe.

This little gem located on Nanaimo Ave. just off Main St. is a pleasure to visit. The meticulously curated photographs and the wonderful soothing space makes it a wonderful stop on your gallery tour or when you are visiting downtown. Steve Hancock, the owner is himself, a highly credentialed professional photographer specializing in nature shots and he has chosen a stable of very accomplished photographers to represent, making for an eclectic and highly interesting ever-changing exhibit.

I thoroughly enjoyed fine Friday evening lecture on the theatrical nature of Italian architecture, and specifically the piazza at the Matheson and Grove Gallery. Entertainment, enlightenment and lively creative ideas with Antonella DeMichelis, renowned Art Historian. Highly recommend this Made in Italy lecture series. Next lecture January 10 and monthly through May. Gallery itself is a fascinating cornucopia of art and sculpture in a myriad of styles and themes. Founding artists Renee Matheson and Kindrie Grove as well as a number of artists have studios on site and welcome visitors.

Went by the Penticton wine center. Super impressed with the selection of Okanagan wines. Even more impressed with the staff knowledge - Terry provided me an in-depth overview of wines generally and the Okanagan especially. She was a bright spot as recent visits to other places left me wondering if servers knew anything about what they are selling. I will be back - thanks Terry.
