A very established clothing optional spot, there are a team of established Penticton residents that fought hard for the City to approve this spot and they are there every beach day to insure it is clean and safe for all visitors. No dogs are allowed and parking is at a premium.

Jamming with the musicians or singing is encouraged in the late afternoon, so don’t hesitate to join in.

As part of our daily walk, my sister and I explored Sudbury Beach, located on Skaha Lake. We sat on a memorial-plaque bench and enjoyed the views all around us. Sudbury Beach is one of three near us between Shaha and Airport Beaches. There is a paved walkway between the road and the sandy beach. Several business, including a boat, skidoo and paddle board rental as well as a closed-for-the-season concession are located here. Picnic tables and chairs are available for use. During the summer season, this beach is crowded with sunbathers, paddle boarders, kayakers, wind-surfers and swimmers. A large, free parking lot is nearby. Buoys designate the safe swimming area. A public washroom is also available with nearby fire pits for use when conditions allow campfires.

As my sister, her son and I walked along the KVR Trail in the Naramata Bench, we stopped to view a 35-foot tall and 50-foot long metal T-Rex affectionately named Alice. She weighs in at 12,000 pounds and looks over the lake and city of Penticton. Although standing on private property, she is situated in a prominent place so that the public can enjoy her too. The landowner commissioned Kevin Stone , a metal artist to create this realistic sculpture with a mirror polished finish. It took two years to complete before Alice could be transported, with great care and difficulty, to her new home. From where we were standing, we could see her very sharp, one-foot long teeth and characteristic small arms. We want to return at night to see Alice again in all her terrifying glory!
