My sister and I decided to go for a picnic at Skaha Lake Park. Although a little windy, we decided to walk to this lovely beach. As we neared the lake, the wind became more powerful and whipped the water into rough waves. We set up at a table near the Vallarta Grill en La Playa. After ordering our food, we turned our attention to the lake and enjoyed watching five wind surfers as they skimmed over the water, their colourful sails carrying them over the waves. Joining them were seven brave souls parasailing across the lake surface. Their watercraft sported very colourful rigging of different shapes and various designs on these sails. They rode the waves and became airborne at times, giving those that watched them an enjoyable show. After we finished our picnic lunch, we walked long the sandy beach before heading home. It’s wonderful to live in such a beautiful place where one can enjoy swimming, boating, water skiing or watch others as they surf or sail the lake.

The experience was not what I was expecting, but my expectations were exceeded. I was quite impressed with Greg's descriptions of the wines in our tasting flight and telling us where the grapes were grown for the wine, all on the estate. My companion and I decided to join their Hillside wine club, and we had a great overall experience. This was my second visit to Hillside (my first in 21 years), and they changed a few things over that time, but I think the experience was better overall.

This Saturday morning trip to the Penticton Market was made with my sister, her daughter and a mutual friend. We hadn’t visited this activity for several years due to Covid and other extenuating circumstances. It was exciting to visit the vendors selling everything from farm products to clothing and everything in between. A female singer entertained potential customers as they wandered among the many stalls. Mouth-watering smells drew us to the food area where there was a great variety of tasty items for purchase. Since our plans involved going out for a late lunch, we didn’t buy anything in this section but moved onto another and purchased fresh local farm fruits and vegetables. We stopped and looked at personal products including bath salts, perfumes, gels and other bathing things. A variety of jewellery, made from so many different metals, beads and stones were offered for sale. After a final look, we decided to leave for our next adventure: lunch at a new restaurant in town.

We have had the pleasure of visiting Ruby Blues several times over the past few years. My husband and I have visited dozens of Okanagan wineries and love supporting local. This particular winery is one that we return to again and again.

We find the tasting experience at Ruby Blues to be exceptional. The tasting room is lively and welcoming. The wines are very good value. The staff is exceptional, particularly Kerry. She makes the tasting experience fun AND informative.

This winery understands that reservations and hefty tasting fees can be a turn off. They explain on social media that their "tasting fee" is a smile and they mean it. No charge to taste.

In addition to their wine shop, we have enjoyed a tasting on their patio. They have a nice picnic area and cold wine available for purchase.

    Parking is ample.

This is by far the best nude beach in BC. We have been to Wreck (more clothed tourists than nudists), Little Tribune Bay (gorgeous beach and water, but 6 hours from Vancouver and 3 ferries), our local Crescent Beach - 2nd best for sure, but 3 Mile feels like you are stepping into the past, when the beaches around Okanagan Lake were not crawling. You still have awesome access to the water and the beach is divine. The best part is the people. You have the locals, who are extremely friendly, and the rest of us. Just happy to be there, I would prefer to say stay away (selfishly), but go if you want just one perfect experience at a clothes optional beach.

I had an amazing tasting today with the very knowledgeable Cheryl as she was engaging and accommodating . I would like to explain on the accommodating. I arrived with two club members and since the tasting room was full we asked the patio staff if we could have our tasting there. We were denied which I was perplexed as there was only one table occupied on the patio. At this point I was wondering why my two friends were members?!? When we went back into the tasting room (still full)so that they could just pick up their club order and forgo a tasting we were met with the lovely Cheryl . She was apparently not allowed to seat us in the near empty patio but however set us up at a barrel just outside the tasting room for a lovely tasting experience. Cheryl saved our experience from being a sour one to a positive.

The main gates were still closed for the season when we arrived, so we are very happy we found the alternative car park at the end of Evergreen drive. There were only 2 other cars there and only saw a couple of rock climbers out on the hike - a real hidden treasure! Snow was turning to slush, so cleats came in very handy. The initial climb had me stripped down to a t-shirt within 10 minutes, great views across the city and Lake, some more technical sections involved a bit of scrambling and path finding. We tried finding the bat cave but it the paths are not signposted at all, so ended up sitting at the peak and soaking up the sun for a bit instead. Relied on the mapsme and strava apps to find our way. As someone who hates elevation gain, the epic scenery made the effort well worth it (be sure to go on a clear day!)

Although my sister and I have been to this restaurant previously, this visit was a very different experience. My niece accompanied us so when we made our meal and beverage selections, we included items we hadn’t ordered before. We enjoyed the Ratler, a tasty grapefruit beer. Our food order included Pretzel Bombs and a Cheese Board. The pretzels are homemade, filled with melted cheddar cheese and a Dijon alioli on the side — very, very yummy!! The tasty Cheese Board featured locally- made cheeses, dried Pink Lady apples, pickles and focaccia bread. Although a patio was available, we opted to sit at an inside table. The Cannery is part of the B.C. Ale Trail so don’t forget to have your pamphlet stamped. Apparel including tee shirts, hats, sweaters, coats and vests are available for purchase as is their beer. Their “Back Yard” sports a food truck with many food choices.

Nice little winery with a beautiful patio. Unfortunately the weather was not fantastic and we didn't get a chance to enjoy the patio. Wines were good, but a little pricier than some other places. The staff was very friendly, but our host was not knowledgeable about wine. There was a beautiful singer while we were tasting, but it was too loud and a little distracting.
