- Yvonne BPenticton, Canada422 contributionsMy sister and I decided to go for a picnic at Skaha Lake Park. Although a little windy, we decided to walk to this lovely beach. As we neared the lake, the wind became more powerful and whipped the water into rough waves. We set up at a table near the Vallarta Grill en La Playa. After ordering our food, we turned our attention to the lake and enjoyed watching five wind surfers as they skimmed over the water, their colourful sails carrying them over the waves. Joining them were seven brave souls parasailing across the lake surface. Their watercraft sported very colourful rigging of different shapes and various designs on these sails. They rode the waves and became airborne at times, giving those that watched them an enjoyable show. After we finished our picnic lunch, we walked long the sandy beach before heading home. It’s wonderful to live in such a beautiful place where one can enjoy swimming, boating, water skiing or watch others as they surf or sail the lake.Written September 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Yvonne BPenticton, Canada422 contributionsThis Saturday morning trip to the Penticton Market was made with my sister, her daughter and a mutual friend. We hadn’t visited this activity for several years due to Covid and other extenuating circumstances. It was exciting to visit the vendors selling everything from farm products to clothing and everything in between. A female singer entertained potential customers as they wandered among the many stalls. Mouth-watering smells drew us to the food area where there was a great variety of tasty items for purchase. Since our plans involved going out for a late lunch, we didn’t buy anything in this section but moved onto another and purchased fresh local farm fruits and vegetables. We stopped and looked at personal products including bath salts, perfumes, gels and other bathing things. A variety of jewellery, made from so many different metals, beads and stones were offered for sale. After a final look, we decided to leave for our next adventure: lunch at a new restaurant in town.Written September 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - OldIrishCurmudgeonYarmouth, ME1,063 contributionsThis one surprised me when I made it inside. The exterior is in pretty good condition and it’s definitely a fun place to visit when you’re in Penticton. The inside was an eye-opener and I would definitely say this is worth your time while you’re staying in town.Written July 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - VancouverLove2travelRichmond, Canada168 contributionsWe have had the pleasure of visiting Ruby Blues several times over the past few years. My husband and I have visited dozens of Okanagan wineries and love supporting local. This particular winery is one that we return to again and again.
We find the tasting experience at Ruby Blues to be exceptional. The tasting room is lively and welcoming. The wines are very good value. The staff is exceptional, particularly Kerry. She makes the tasting experience fun AND informative.
This winery understands that reservations and hefty tasting fees can be a turn off. They explain on social media that their "tasting fee" is a smile and they mean it. No charge to taste.
In addition to their wine shop, we have enjoyed a tasting on their patio. They have a nice picnic area and cold wine available for purchase.

We have been to Wreck (more clothed tourists than nudists), Little Tribune Bay (gorgeous beach and water, but 6 hours from Vancouver and 3 ferries), our local Crescent Beach - 2nd best for sure, but 3 Mile feels like you are stepping into the past, when the beaches around Okanagan Lake were not crawling. You still have awesome access to the water and the beach is divine. The best part is the people. You have the locals, who are extremely friendly, and the rest of us. Just happy to be there, I would prefer to say stay away (selfishly), but go if you want just one perfect experience at a clothes optional beach.Written August 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ryanvanveenphotographyVernon, Canada842 contributionsDespite the fact that apex is a relatively small ski hill it packs a good punch for its size! A triple chair on the far left of the resort offers great groomer/intermediate terrain and the quad offers great skiing over the rest of the hill! Snow conditions are usually pretty consistent and the weather is often great up there! I’d highly recommend the trees and some of the chutes and bowls if you’re an advanced skier!! Overall it’s a fantastic mountain and I love riding here!Written January 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Super helpful. We lost something important and they really stepped up and helped us. Together we found it and were on our way. - Yvonne BPenticton, Canada422 contributionsWhile out for a drive, my sister and I visited Skaha Bluffs Park. After parking our car, we decided to tour the area. We learned that this park not offered hiking but also permits cycling, e-biking, horse back riding and climbing. Also, it has wild life but we did not see any the day when we were there. We viewed rugged terrain comprised of several cliffs, crevices and outcroppings. There are also grasslands that provide habitat for the animals that live there. This park does not allow overnight parking and is open from dawn to dusk.Written November 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Yvonne BPenticton, Canada422 contributionsMy sister, her daughter and I selected the Cannery for a late afternoon beverage. Although very busy, we were immediately seated at a table by a window that gave a good view of both the inside and outside. After studying the menu, we placed our order at the bar. I enjoyed my Grapefruit Ratler. A large window across from our table permitted us and other customers to see the brewing process. A huge wall-mounted menu listed the foods and beverages available. Oil paintings of different birds in their natural habitat including one of a red-winged blackbird and another of a grouse were hung in various locations. In addition to their beers, one can purchase clothing merchandise including shirts and hoodies.Written December 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BCbikeGuyKeremeos, Canada532 contributionsThis is a lovely garden in which to spend some quiet contemplative time. It was particularly pleasant on a sunny late Fall afternoon when the tourists have gone and the foliage is showing its colours. Sitting watching the very large Koi swimming lazily in the pond allows one's mind to wander to a peaceful place. I could sit here for hours - time well spent.Written October 22, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
