- Sandie ZCalgary, Canada62 contributionsGreat beach to watch surfers and walk dogs. Close to many resorts a good safe walking path along hwy to walk or bike. Friendly people we met walking mostly from the island and frequent visitors.Written September 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tdsuperstarToronto, Canada19,771 contributionsTruly amazing experience. It was not the nicest of days that I was there, but I enjoyed the scenery and waves while in Tofino. It's worth paying for the day pass, it's good to support of National Parks. Have some good hiking shoes/boots, your feet will thank you for it! Try and hit up multiple parking lots. I was able to enjoy Long and South Beach. The power of ocean will leave you in awe! Enjoy the beauty Canada has to offer!!Written March 19, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Marco3079Victoria, Canada32 contributionsWe visited the hot springs as part of an 8 hour fishing and sightseeing charter from Tofino. Tonquin Charters were first rate, our captain Johnny said we should leave early at 7 am to beat the potential crowds at the hot springs. A beautiful 1.5 hour boat ride through sheltered islands with spectacular scenery and wild life. The hot springs are managed by a local First Nation who will collect $30 a head (cash) at hot springs cove dock. A new well built cedar board walk leads you up and down through a 45 minute west coast forest experience. We were the first there and it was quiet and tranquil but be prepared for a few steps, accessibility is an issue. You arrive at the change structure with pit toilets and two change booths. The hot springs run under the board walk and over a small water fall leading to the hot springs. The path to the pools is approximately 40 feet of uneven, slippery rocks and shoes of some kind are highly recommended. The pools were two crevices with the first filled with kelp (tidal wash) and the second the most comfortable. This was large enough for our party of three. We stayed 45 minutes and that was long enough. We past about 20 people on the walk back and that would have been crazy in those steep, uneven, tiny pools making early arrival the best option. It’s expensive to get here so enjoy the boat or float plane ride, the board walk is beautiful and go fishing to make it worth it because the hot springs alone are not worth it.Written October 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - digitalrocCalgary, Canada2,145 contributionsI drove to Long Beach for a morning walk along the beach. There was less than a handful of people on the entire beach. I took off my sandals and walked in the water and along the clean beach. It was lightly raining, cold and windy, even with the weather, it was fantastic! For someone coming from a land lock area, I had moments of overwhelming joy and elation at this beach!Written September 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RaptorDC8 contributionsThis is the first tim who I have been and The forest is so big and the wildlife is so dense. There used to be fewer bears, but now the population has increased considerably. The scenery is always splendid and so is the welcome.Written April 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ctmom123Freeland, WA78 contributionsGreat beach. Came to take photos of the surfers/waves. The water is definitely rougher here (higher waves), so that’s something to consider if you have young kids that would like to swim.Written August 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - S FUcluelet, Canada1,169 contributionsOne can easily be forgiven for thinking one has gone to taste heaven, if one finds oneself in Industrial Way, just outside of Tofino, where the inspiring Tofino Brewing Company (TBC) is located.
At the core of this food & beverage hub/mecca is TBC, crafting a wide selection of interesting & delicious brews, since opening 13 years ago in April 2011.
My current favorites from the taproom & can selection are Spruce Tree Ale & Ethereal IPA.
It also sells takeaway craft beers in cans from the location, as well as shipping its brews free across B.C., in selections of 16 cans.
Its prices are in line with those of other similar breweries on Vancouver Island & B.C.
TBC’s taproom is open from 12 to 9pm.
It has a great atmosphere & superb service but an additional benefit to sipping @ TBC is it allows patrons to bring in food from outside.
And, boy, is there a great array of places outside TBC from which to buy the tastiest of food for take out, with the added plus that one is buying from places which adhere to good ethical practices, from treatment of staff, to their attitude to the environment & sustainability, as well as respect for the First Nations land on which they are operating.
Just outside is the airstream Japanese food truck, Toki Doki, serving a nice array of very tasty Japanese street food, run by partners, Madi & Kei. Both are charming & committed to serving terrific food well & ethically.
It is open Monday to Thursday but closed on Tuesday & Wednesday.
Toki Doki is closed from Nov 19 to Dec 26 to winterize operations, opening for a short 10 days, then closing again for most of Jan.
The Picnic Charcuterie (PC) offering meat, cheeses & preserves is also close by, serving selections of small, medium, large & extra large platters, ranging from 50 to 250$, as well as sandwiches from 12 to 15.50 to 16.50$. It is female owned. Robyn & Dani are the impressive duo owners.
PC, which has been open since 2014, is open from 11 am to 5pm. It also offers a catering service.
The Fish Shop next to PC & also close to TBC, has a terrific selection of fresh & smoked fish & seafood for takeaway to eat @ home, the beach, or with one’s chosen beverage @ the TBC.
It is open from 11 am to 6pm.
Soul Tofino, another delicious eatery, serves a wide range of food, from its popular fried chicken @ some six pieces @ 25$, to pizzas with its list of classics priced at 17 to 22$ & gourmets from 20 to 25$.
It also offers burgers & other dishes.
It is owned by anorher charming couple, Kelly & Cam, & opening at 4 pm, caters to those wanting dinner, closing @ 9pm.
Its staff are great, especially AJ, who is a delight to be served by.
Also in this heavenly food & beverage hub, is Tofino Distillery. It crafts the most amazing of spirits, perfectly suited to this Wild West ocean village of Tofino.
And, of course, beyond, from Ucluelet, Tofino’s non identical twin, 26 miles south to across the province.
TBC is greatly appreciated by patrons for opening its taproom in the way it does. It is win, win, win for all.
It offers the enlightened culinary view that all of its culinary neighbors are to be appreciated, & seen as partners in making visitors’ experiences to the area as good as can be.
Yay for TBC.
I highly recommend TBC & the five other places in this heavenly hub.

Short easy hike that was really enjoyable. One of the access points is currently closed due to construction but the main access point to the trail is still open. Free parking close by.Written August 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AnLil936 contributionsIf you like nature, mountains and water, you won’t get better than the UNESCO biosphere of Clayoquot Sound. Long settled by Americans, draft dodgers and Catholic priests, photos depict the First Nations on the West coast (Nuu-chah-Nulth Council Maaqtusiis from the area of Naciks or Ahousaht reserve) taken to several local historical Indian residential school sites. Cycling highway 4 or renting a car from Nanaimo airport offers a mountainous and scenic few hours’ driving stretch to Tofino, where a fishing vessel (G.I. Charles) or water taxi ride (Robinson’s Elsie Jay) can be prearranged from the government dock. To get to the Wellness Centre or Wild Side Trail on Ahousaht Nation’s Flores Island, pack food or ask someone knowledgeable of Ahousaht Fisheries about obtaining
local oysters, Halibut, salmon, red snapper, copper and cod fish. From Templar Channel /Clayoquot Sound’s waters you’ll spot whales, otters, or grazing black bears around Vancouver Island. Riding by Pacific swells at the sandy stretch near Esowesta Reserve and Casiiwa (tsa-shii-wa) Incinerator Rock at Long Beach (24-hour info. 250-726-3604) there are park washrooms; and past the Botanical Garden you can stop at shops. Seaman Luke Robinson of ElsieJay has everything you need to know if heading to destinations in and around Tofino. Rhino Cafe offers great coffee and a washroom stop in the town. Just outside Nanaimo on the way to Port Alberni, there’s an information centre on the South side of highway 4 with free restroom access and picnic tables. Further on, you can pick up smoked salmon at Tom Watts’ home and buy his cookbook during another stop West of Port Alberni. If staying at Tofino, you can also catch a boat to Flores’ skateboard park or Hot Springs, and enjoy a kayak excursion. You’ll be entranced by magical Clayoquot Sound, where the Pacific Northwest drew explorers over three centuries. It’s a beautiful place that’s full of marine adventures to die for.Written August 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SeeingTHEworld2012Victoria, Canada970 contributionsA cross between a garden and forrest.
There is a small garden with flowers and plants but much of the site is forest with some sculptures.
There are goats and chickens
It has a small gift shop and cafe.
Worth a visit, fun, lovely and a quiet respite.Written June 22, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Easy water taxi across with some wildlife watching and then a reflective stroll through the forest. The boardwalk is ok ( it’s hand made so be prepared for uneven steps, slippery conditions and the like) but the trail is fantastic. I was lost in my own world with some giants. If it has rained then be prepared to get wet from the vegetation; the trail is a wild one but well marked.Written July 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jsd26Cardiff, UK170 contributionsA short drive takes you to the top of Radar Hill and a short uphill walk on a paved path takes you to the summit. Sadly the persistent rain meant there was no view to see (although there was a board explaining the points of interest that would have been visible in a better day!). The memorial is worth a visit.Written January 31, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sorcham9County Dublin, Ireland140 contributionsTasty unusual flavours- definitely worth a visit and try out some cool drinks.
Nice rustic spot, with good atmosphere.
Flights of 3 tasters available which was perfect for our visit. We also purchased a big bottle of one of our tasters.
Would recommend a visit- they have outdoor seating I assume opens in the Summer when the weather is a bit better.Written April 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The massage itself is great (perfect pressure etc. I almost fell asleep I felt so relaxed). And I love the products etc. that they have for sale in the reception area. I always buy tea or a candle or hand cream etc. We make sure to book an appointment every time we are in Tofino.Written February 16, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
