- extravelagentHonolulu, HI383 contributionsSuper fun place! Glad we visited the Public market! The clam chowder with the filo cover was oh so good and kept us warm on a cold day. Also had lots of almond croissants, pastries, smoothies, coffee from all the stalls (can't remember them all).
Prices are decent and although we went during the week, it was still busy and a fun vibe. Only thing I wished was that there was more indoor seating. We had to eat out clam chowder outside and it was kind cold. I'm sure during the summer it's quite nice outside though. Overall it's definitely a must do when in Vancouver. Uber drop off and pick up was easy, plenty of bathrooms hahahaWritten December 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul PYelverton, UK40 contributionsNice Little Gallery & Museum to while away an hour or so in Vancouver Downtown. Very interesting background about familiar art and the artist who created it.Written September 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RaviSt. Albans, UK97 contributionsI don't understand the negative reviews... We thought the gallery was full of interesting works of art, and the exhibition was simply great and very challenging on issues of race and culture.
Staff are helpful and facilities up to date although all lifts etc weren't working when we went.

Are there lots of people? Are they carrying bags of purchases? This tells us a fair bit about the economy. What about the stores themselves - are there many vacancies? Are the staff smiling, or standing around twiddling their thumbs? As I say, a great chance for a snapshot of Vancouver's retail economy, while avoiding the smoky air outside in climate controlled comfort. Consistently clean and safe.Written August 22, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- IambicVancouver, WA463 contributionsThe gallery has a wide range of beautiful and interesting works by indigenous artists. Most works are modern, but there is a small selection of vintage and antique basketry. Works ran the gamut from ceramics to jewelry to sculpture. The prices put works outside of our budget, but if you a collector or just interested in looking, the gallery is well worth a stop while in Gastown.
(A tip: Don't go toward opening or closing times. We stopped by one day before the scheduled closing time and found the gallery closed. We came back at the scheduled opening time, but had to wait for the staff to arrive and invite us in.)Written August 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of beautiful art pieces, and also other Indigenous-made goods such as jewelry and wallets. Relaxing to browse the gallery. Knowledgable and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit.Written June 5, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lenka K1 contributionAwesome place. So many talented people at one place. Able to experience different mediums from multiple artists. Amazing to find original gifts for reasonable price. Once you walk in - you trully feels welcome. I agree totally - "The variety and quality of items they have makes this a fascinating place to support local artists. "
Perfect location too - now with available parking.Written November 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It’s a touristy area but the standard of the work is very fine. I went in specifically looking for silver jewellery by native artists. The selection was small but beautiful quality. I ended up buying a carved silver bracelet by a Coast Salish artist, which was different from anything else I had seen in Vancouver or in Alaska. I only checked out the prices for jewellery but they were comparable with other shops including the gift shop of the Anchorage Museum. The staff were helpful and not pushy.Written September 24, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- FouregasUnited States5,299 contributionsOn Skytrain Canada Line, Oakridge 41st Ave. So for tourists who don't drive this is easy access from downtown area.
Not as big as Metrotown but closer to downtown there's enough shops and eateries in an indoor setting to keep one occupy for at least few hours.Written May 24, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They have a decent variety that includes cheeses from all over the globe. The staff are knowledgeable and great with answering questions about differences among the cheeses. - Beckie D125 contributionsThis wad a destination gallery for us, in the touristy area of Granville island. The artwork was incredible with a wide range of media and knowledgeable staff. - on_the_go_98765Tucson18,350 contributionsSince our first visit here 2 years ago, not much (if anything) has changed. Although it wasn't all that crowded (Canada first opens its borders to Americans on Aug. 9th), with visitors/shoppers, everything seemed really packed tight, like sardines in a tin.
I think we would have done some serious shopping if we could have waded through the excessive quantity of merchandise. Sometimes less is really best.Written August 29, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - on_the_go_98765Tucson18,350 contributionsHere it is, August 2021, the first wave of tourists (from America) have jumped the hurdles, done the tests, etc. to gain entry to Canada. We really did not expect as many business entities to have fully recovered as there actually are; this is a (recovery) work in progress.
From our perspective, the good bones of this center are here: that being the cascading waterfall fountain in the small courtyard (facing Coal Harbor) and the Food Court choices (all hungry for business).
The shop spaces look to be in the midst of giving things another go (lots of activity setting up new businesses on the ground floor). There's no sugar-coating the effect Covid has had on local economies (world-wide).
Head down Robson for high-end shopping (Nordstrom's). It won't be found here.Written August 31, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
