Granville Island has a bit of everything - food, music, craftsmanship, water front dining, a great variety of stalls for shopping, etc. Best plan a few hours to take it all in.
One moment, you're smelling the aromas of fresh plants, produce, meats, bakery, coffee, and cooked meals, and the next moment you're walking by the shops (indoors and outdoors) with wonderful local arts and crafts.

A superb gallery both for permanent and temporary exhibitions, with periodical guided tours and a top quality offer of items at the museum's shop.
The museum staff was pleasant, the museum gift shop well stocked, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

I could have spent several hours shopping.
Gastown has a certain charm, a cobble-stone street, a fairly new (1973) Steam Clock, loads of tourist shops, restaurants and a few distinctive, eclectic and memorable stops to make - Hills Native Art and Gallery i...

if you are staying in Vancouver than take the sea bus to North Vancouver, it parks beside the market, come on in for a craft beer, snacks, meals, shopping and more.
Fresh fish and baked goods, salads and a deli are topped by a wonderful stop at the chocolate shop where you can watch them making toffee and feast your eyes on a wide variety of chocolates to choose from.

A smallish highend shopping mall halfway between Vancouver downtown and the airport.

Awesome for outdoor shopping in Vancouver.
Located in Gastown, this is a fine art gallery, not a souvenir shop.

My wife did some shopping, assisted by a very pleasant and helpful sales person.
Be sure to check it out after shopping at Lululemon.

The shop is small but has solid wooden stools and items creatively displayed.
We walked in thinking we'd just pick up a tea as a souvenir but we learned so much and spent maybe 45 minutes in this tiny tea shop just being educated.

This is an artisan cheese shop in the Granville Island Public Market, and showcases delicious local artisan cheeses.

You also get to buy from some of the friendliest people on earth and enjoy a shopping experience that's the complete opposite of the many frantic or grumpy people you see doing their regular grocery shopping.
By far the best place to shop for food in Vancouver

This was one of my favorite places to shop when they were close to me on Main St and their new gallery on Commercial is still worth the trip.

The prices run the gambit from well priced to pricey and the busier shopping hours are crazy busy, but somehow the amiable staff make your shopping experience a peasant one.
Just shopped there today and found everything I was looking for...sleeping bag, shirts, jacket, biodegradable soap, etc

This is an experience shopping here.
I found the lady who owns the shop, Nazrin, to be sincere, honest, and caring about her customer's requirements and she also has a lovely relaxed, friendly manner making one feel like a valued customer already.

Yaletown has some quality shops, but one that stands out is Kaarigar Handicrafts.

Despite a group of children spontaneously coming into her shop, which for some would be very disconcerting, she welcomed us and encouraged us all to find our own hat for a fun class photo.
We found this terrific hat shop, soon after we arrived by boat taxi on Granville Island.
