- Colette L2 contributionsSunny was fabulous! It doesn't matter what level you are at. She had first -timers and experts joining in. Yoga on the beach and with amazing people...what more can you ask for? I will be on one of Sunny's future yoga adventures and plan to stop into her Vancouver studio when I'm in town. Thanks for such a fun holiday Sunny!Written February 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- yoganahhhhh3 contributionsThe teachers are great. The front of desk staff are often rude and snooty. It really is unfortunate as it does impact the vibe. I have felt this way over the last 6 years, and have used other studios for that reason. Unfortunately my favorite studio closed in the area, and thus have started going to Y more regularly. And am dismayed to say I am struggling with this corporate rude energy from front desk yet again. It's unfortunate but important for the studio to know that the impact of front desk and entry really does make a big difference on one's perception and experience at the studio.Written November 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Christine CVancouver, Canada4 contributionsI have been attending Semperviva for some years now and have decided to end my membership with them.
Over the past two years or so, experienced teachers have left Semperviva to be replaced by very young and newly trained yoga instructors. While, of course, I believe that everyone has to start somewhere, and of course will need experience - it is difficult for those of us who have had the most remarkable teachers to be replaced by novices who have some difficulty in attending to those of us who need have certain modifications for injuries, or simply, aging.
I myself have neck and back issues and I felt comfortable asking for sage advice to support my body and prevent further injuries. However, I was in a class with a new teacher who explained that she had just graduated and she said she felt uncomfortable with modifications because she was not a physiotherapist! I wasn't expecting such - simply to inform that I could not participate in all asanas because my body would not be thanking me.
I am dismayed at the downturn of Semperviva. There are still some amazing and marvellous teachers who have been at Semperviva for some years now - but I see them leaving one by one. I am now attending a smaller studio with yoga support I can trust.Written February 8, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I have gone to this studio for several months now and have enjoyed every class. The classes are very organized, easy to follow as a beginner and provide challenges for more those who are more advanced in their practice.Written February 2, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - gaddingabout2016Vancouver, Canada47 contributionsForget happy hour! Do this instead. A beautiful location, in a beautiful City. This is the perfect way to end the day. Yoga on a floating yoga mat! It looks easy but is quite the workout. And falling in is a lot of fun! In the summer it is held in the outside pool which is bathtub warm. Afterwards, hang out at the pool for a bit and/or sit in a cabana and have dinner (or brunch if it's a morning class) at one of the restaurants in the hotel. There are two great patios where you can replenish the calories you just burned!Written August 15, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael MFort Lauderdale, FL6 contributionswe visited this place after a cruise for much needed massage over Labor Day. The owner fit us in in the last minute and was extremely courteous. The foot massage was the best we had ever had and they even offered us pizza they bought for the staff.. This was the highlight of our stay in the city and this is the best Vancouver has to offer . I highly recommend !!!!!Written September 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
