- hrhmedToronto, Canada353 contributionsI had the privilege of visiting the **Cathedral of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary** during my recent trip to Vancouver and it was truly a memorable experience. This beautiful cathedral is a perfect blend of history, architecture, and spirituality, and it’s definitely a must-visit for anyone in the area.
The moment I entered, I was struck by the simple interior. The cathedral's design is both elegant and peaceful, with soaring columns, intricate woodwork, and a beautiful vaulted ceiling that gives the entire space an air of majesty. The **stained glass windows** are absolutely stunning—each one telling a unique story with vivid colors and exquisite detail. The sunlight streaming through them creates a calming atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel almost ethereal.
The altar and religious figures are beautifully done, and there’s a peaceful reverence in the air that invites reflection and quiet contemplation.
Despite being a significant religious site, the cathedral maintains a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The **staff** are friendly, and visitors are encouraged to take their time exploring the space. I particularly appreciated the **quiet nooks** where one can sit and pray or simply reflect in peace. The cathedral’s **calming ambiance** provides a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Overall, my visit to the **Cathedral of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary** was a highlight of my trip. Whether you’re religious, an architecture enthusiast, or just looking to experience the beauty of the space, this cathedral is well worth a visit. The combination of stunning architecture, rich history, and a serene atmosphere makes it a truly special place. I highly recommend it!Written November 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's the oldest surviving church in downtown Vancouver. Once the brightest and tallest building in the city, it was known as ‘the light on the hill’, used by mariners for navigation as they came into port. Outside a 30m tower of steel, clad with stained glass, houses four bronze bells.Written January 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KJV652014Vancouver, Canada6 contributionsCanadian Memorial United Church is a welcoming and affirming place whether you're coming through the doors for the first time or visit regularly on Sundays. It is a place where all are welcome regardless of what you believe or who you love. It preaches progressive theology and was built as a monument to peace.Written June 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ben WNew Westminster, Canada3,679 contributionsRyerson United Church is a nice little old church. The acoustic is great. I went there to a joint performance of the Elektra women’s choir with the Vancouver Men’s Chorus. It was a wonderful performance in a good environment. The organ is also very interesting: It is pretty large and electric controlled.Written April 27, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - George G2 contributionsI contacted the synagogue’s associate rabbi for conversion and also for attending services. I received an email from the Executive Director telling me to discontinue contacting the staff and office or there will be an escalation of response.
Not a very welcoming synagogue. Very unfriendly.Written July 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I now have criminal problems to deal with thanks to the inhospitability of this synagogue.
Very unfriendly, unwelcoming, unloving synagogue rabbinical leadership. I do not recommend this synagogue.Written July 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
