In our experience of our time in the U.S.A and Canada, TransLink probably ranked among one of the best public transportation methods, but there is still much room for improvement.
The positives were the relative simplicity of obtaining and using a 'Compass Card' plus the ability to register it and check your balance online, the frequency of their services and the many routes provided, and the price of their fares which wasn't extraordinarily cheap, but neither was it disproportionately expensive.
    The major drawbacks:
The Compass Card is refundable ($6CA) but you can only receive this (as a tourist) by visiting 1 of 2 locations in downtown Vancouver that were only open during usual working hours (and then you have to get back to where you came from without the card...).
The automated ticket machines only take pre-determined top-up values so if you just need to stick on an extra $2 you can't, instead you again have to go to 1 of 2 offices where you CAN load whatever amount you want at any increment (why don't they just allow this feature on the machines?)
The fares are somewhat unclear, we read that fares are zoned, and staying in North Vancouver we assumed that the fare for the bus would be applied at a 'zone 2' rate, however the bus fare seems to be the same ($2.40) wherever you travel...
Finally, the buses were occasionally late, which is frustrating especially when it's raining or cold, however we appreciated that they have live tracking so we did know roughly when they'd arrive via Google Maps.

We found this water taxi service by accident, and it was a great alternative to going all the way to Horseshoe Bay for BC Ferries. You get on the boat in Granville Island, and they take you right to Snug Cove on Bowen. the driver is friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and the trip was excellent!

Perimeter's buses were always on time and the company provided congenial and professional drivers. We were going hiking with a large group and they were pretty flexible in planning since we would have had to reschedule should the weather reports be bad. This was greatly appreciated and set them aside from other bus companies I had tried. Tanya was friendly, helpful and replied promptly to all requests and queries. I have used them 5 times and will continue to do so.

With gas prices so high, why would anyone want to drive when we can take YVR Skylynx and get there at an affordable price and enjoy the views on the way. I think Skylynx is much easier than driving a car.

Used to get to and from the Airport. Easy to use. The track does split near the airport, fortunately and man let us know that we needed to get off and get the next train that would continue on to the airport.

We used this company to transfer us from Vancouver to Whistler and on the return add on a bit of a tour.

The pick up was smooth and the driver was waiting at the gate to whisk us to Whistler. He was very knowledgeable and pointed things out on the way.

On the return journey the driver was brilliant taking us to nice areas and then a tour of Vancouver before our drop of at the airport shopping mall.

I would definitely use this company again.

My partner and I had planned a trip to the Sunshine Coast and were looking for a way to see as much of the natural beauty as possible with our limited knowledge of the area.
7 Adventures provided that and more by taking us to to places we would never have otherwise known about. They offered forest walks and hikes from easy to more strenuous depending on what we were looking for. Their intimate knowledge of the area and their passion for sharing it with visitors made all the difference for us.
Highly recommended for anyone wanting a more personal adventure experience and we will be back again next year.

I chose epic rides because they take you straight from point a to point b. I didn’t want to spend an extra hour on a bus with the other company.

The instructions for the pick up location at river rock were not entirely clear. Managed to take the train (~$8), but once I got off, I was a little confused. It’s not difficult to figure out but if you’re in a rush, you could miss the bus. They should have more pictures to make it more clear in the email.

They have a bunch of different buses - coach buses, smaller coach-like buses, and something that reminded me of an upgraded school bus. I took the latter from river rock to whistler and it smelled like a locker room. I’m very sensitive to smells, so combined with the traffic and winding roads, I felt a little motion sick.

The company is indeed extremely punctual, as the other reviews have mentioned, and it’s a little frightening to think that they’d abandon people rather than make an exception. I made a last minute decision to use the washroom before boarding, and had a missed call just one minute past my boarding time. Wasn’t clear who I could’ve texted to let them know I was going to be a literal minute late. The reminder email and texts seemed to be automated and make it VERY clear that they will not wait and WILL leave without you. Very anxiety-inducing.

Urban Limousine Services is the best. We booked at the very last minute. Our driver arrived just as we were rolling the luggage out. We can't say enough about how great the service was. Nacho our driver is the best. Thanks, Urban Limo.
