Not too busy & reduced train service is now in affect, plus only traveling on weekdays.

Other than that, the views were great and a smooth ride.

This was an easy way to travel back home to Maple Ridge. COVID safe & everyone met all required safety rules. Not too busy & reduced train service is now in affect, plus only traveling on weekdays.

Very excited to finally ride the train having got the bus down to seattle( which wasn’t bad honestly) purchased our coach tickets in November, showed up at 0700 for our 0750 departure only to be told it’s leaving at 0830. I showed the check in lady our ticket and asked why it said departs at 0750.She said it’s been months since it left at that time, ok, strange. No problem, we will arrive at 1230, should still be able to make the 2.10 ferry from horseshoe bay. We sat in the waiting room and watched the first passport / ticket check. Wow, the employee was just barking orders at passengers, she seemed to be having a bad day. We boarded just after 8 got 2 seats on the left as recommended. Sure they were a bit worn but comfortable enough although some outlets would have been nice. The scenery was great all the way to the border. Once we hit Canada everything changed. We literally crawled along, it would have been faster to walk. At our scheduled arrival time we were miles away. At 1300 we got pretty close to the terminus but then we started going backwards for another 20 minutes. No announcements, no clue what was happening. At 1335 we finally stopped, thinking there was still a microchance we could still get to the ferry, I opened the door and started down the stairs. The same employee was on the platform and started screaming, yes screaming at me to get back! Get back on the train. She came right up and yelled” Do you want Customs to get mad” I told her this was our first time and we didn’t know what was happening. I mean usually a train stops and you get off. The lady behind us also waiting to exit says this happens all the time and that an hour late is normal. I read another review that said sundays are the worst so just be aware especially if you have onward travel plans
