On Skytrain Canada Line, Oakridge 41st Ave. So for tourists who don't drive this is easy access from downtown area.

Not as big as Metrotown but closer to downtown there's enough shops and eateries in an indoor setting to keep one occupy for at least few hours.

I just saw Metro Theatre’s new play The Gazebo. What a hoot! It’s a very funny whodunnit. Great performances by the three main characters, Nell, Elliot and the District Attorney. Who knew community theatre in Vancouver had this kind of talent?

The rest of the cast are just as talented as the three main stars. Special mention should be made of the tall, dark and handsome Detective guy. What a smooth and sexy voice! He should be on the big screen (if he’s not already?)

The two crooks reminded me of Abbott and Costello. Great accents. Well cast!

The theatre itself is well maintained. I especially enjoyed the drinks in the bar. Incidentally, the bartender was in the play too!

Go see this play if it’s not too late and support this great little theatre. I’ll be back.

It's a bit out of the way so we hadn't been here yet but we made the trip and were pleasantly surprised! Great tasting room, very comfortable and spacious. I recommend getting the 6 beer flight so you can try all their beers. We didn't eat here but the pizzas look a bit small for the price. Friendly staff and good beers!

Our group of about 16 met at JCC on a very rainy day but spirits were high as our excellent and well informed leader David led us through the streets of Oakridge. An added and unexpected perk was the spontaneous invitation by a homeowner for each of our sopping wet group to enter his most interesting and beautiful home for a peak inside. Our tour ended at Temple Shalom which may be a difficult hoof back to JCC for those less able.

Marine drive is a commuter hub in busy residential area, light rail and buses connect here. Not a huge mall, but a bit of everything - huge Asian supermarket, large well stocked liquor store, Irish pub, Thai and Chinese restaurants, cinema and various clothes shops. Handy if you're staying in the area.

This very expansive green space has many boardwalks which stretch along the River with tidal marshes , numerous trees , sandy beaches and interesting marine traffic on the Fraser River and with YVR Airport traffic in the background…this is an off leash dog park area and the dog walkers are very respectable to all strollers.. numerous benches are present for very scenic vistas and relaxation..some interesting tidal ripples allowed me to use Live Photo to record the River flowing

The Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre (VHEC) — which is a teaching museum providing much needed & mindful education on human rights abuse & the horror of genocide — is an essential learning resource & should be visited by all. The VHEC delivers this education on the Holocaust through changing exhibits, school programs, & public talks. It mainly draws on
Holocaust survivors to do this, as well as through a collection of artifacts survivors & others have donated. It also brings in outside speakers to give larger public talks. I was fortunate to hear the then only living survivor of Schindler’s List.
The other important role it fulfills is taking down survivor witness statements, increasingly so with time, given most now are into their 80s & beyond. I was a VHEC docent for a significant number of years in the 2000 decade, have been to many exhibitions & public talks, sent tribute greetings on its forum, as well donating to this profoundly excellent organisation.
I know it well & respect it greatly.
    Along with contributing to the
collection of artifacts, Holocaust survivors give witness to the horrors of the Nazi era they experienced in a school programme aimed at pupils at the high school level to create awareness on the Holocaust, as well as how things such as bullying, discrimination & hate speech can feed into & foster atrocities. Pupils get that connection, taking away how important it is they step in when they see any of this happening at school or other places they frequent — & that standing up against discriminatory behavior applies to any person or group, be it racial, religious, ethnic or gender.
All I came across at the VHEC were inspiring from founder, Robert Krell, who as a child in the Netherlands, survived, across the board. Currently an exhibition is on on the Nazi propaganda aimed at youth. The VHEC is open 9 to 5 Mon to Thurs, closing at 3 pm on Friday. The B.C. gov announced that from 2025 the Holocaust will be incorporated in the school curriculum, a important inclusion, along with that of First Nations history which has been included

This is the stress free way to drive to and from Vancouver! For years I drove myself from Coquitlam to Vancouver return and had to deal with traffic and parking issues that had my brain fried! Cabs, forget it. No, take Excel and relax in a nice limo with great drivers and feel fresh getting to you destination. Great ride Howie, thanks!

I've made it my business to get to know a lot of the parks in Greater Vancouver. This is such a gem, truly magical. They knew what they were doing when the called the pond Avalon Pond! I was lucky to live nearby for a while, so got to know it quite well. It's also well connected to all the beautiful areas in Champlain Heights, and to the Fraserview Gold course. You can spend hours and hours there.

As mentioned before, this is a small park ideally located as a "rest stop" along the trail on the north side of the Fraser River. When walking this area, whether from Byrne Road in Burnaby or a shorter portion of this trail, I look forward to a quick break here before moving on. Clean restroom and lots of benches facing the working river.

The pool is cheap. The park is lovely, with several fun play structures for the kids. We enjoyed our visit here with family.

If I'm looking for something different in furniture, I check the antique warehouse. Their inventory is varied and ever changing and sometime the perfect piece is there waiting for me.

Excellent place to play curling in all 6 sheets. You can also learn how to play the game of curling and meet up with friends that are interested in the game.

Beautiful heritage buildings, a wonderful sanctuary space that is welcoming and calming, varied and always interesting Sunday services, a fine community of engaged and engaging people, and lots of activities on this busy campus. Definitely worth one visit – you might like it and come back again... and again... and again – I did!
