- david nManchester, UK4,228 contributionsIt sin a central location and the building is amazing. It does have a covered atrium with a few small shops plus a gift shop run by the Friends of the library so do go & support them.Written January 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - david nManchester, UK4,228 contributionsCutting through the centre of Vancouver, this street has lots of interesting shops & is a minute away from the art gallery. Well-recommended to stroll along.Written January 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- david nManchester, UK4,228 contributionsCertainly, the easiest way into downtown and the cheapest - especially on returning as you don't get charged an "improvement" tax. Well-recommended.Written January 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Dorothy Gale11 contributionsI just wanted to post some seating info as I wasn't able to find much online when I was buying tickets.
We were at the Orpheum for a movie with orchestra accompaniment (Home Alone.) We sat in the third row downstairs. The stage is low enough that the kids could see, even in the front row. However, there is a bit of interference with the conductor's head, some of the musicians, and the lower edge of the screen. Also, from the front section, you can only see the front rows of the musicians, we couldn't see the horn section at all or the piano. Just the strings. I think the best seats to observe the orchestra are about halfway back on the floor, as you get a bit of elevation and you can see the back section of the stage. Or the front of the balcony/dress circle would be a good view of everything as well.
I also wasn't sure if the third row would be too loud for the kids, but it was not an issue. The show was very enjoyable and the kids had a good time too. The bar had small bags of popcorn, chips and candy along with wine, beer, cider, and soft drinks. Tipping is not allowed, but the price seems to include it.Written December 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Where_to_travel_nextVancouver, Canada4,349 contributionsTry this place for a most unique experience for an intimate session listening to local jazz monthly. It's like being in a loving room and you get served tea and a cookie at intermission.Written December 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KBofLBLittleborough, UK505 contributionsI did not enter the library itself. Nevertheless, I was impressed by how it operated as a community facility incorporating shops and services which were compatible with a library setting. This was reflected in the hustle and bustle created in the area.Written May 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - OnAnotherJourneyCanada294 contributionsWe had dinner on Denman and it really had a neighbourhood feel, unlike the commercial vibe of the more well-known Robson St. We felt safe and will definitely return next time we’re in town.Written July 30, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tammy c16 contributionsAfter attending their concert on Saturday, I can't stop raving about the VSO. The orchestra played with conviction which the audience responded enthusiastically.
The high light was Beethoven's piano concerto #5, majestic and mesmerizing. Leslie Dala brought its full effect for the hundreds who were at Shaughnessy Height.
We came to Vancouver to attend the André Rieu concert which was cancelled the last minute because of their members got Covid. We truly feel like the luckiest visitors in Vancouver to have found VSO on the day.
Music lovers must seek them out whenever this local orchestra is playing. They deserve the attention and support!Written March 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lyn1354Harrogate, UK87 contributionsA leafy suburb with some older houses to look at, good cafe too. Unfortunately we couldn't go in, due to some filming in the area.Go to Nelson Park area too.Written September 27, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CheltenhamPaulCheltenhamPaul151 contributionsWe rented the bikes and walked them down to Stanley Park. Turned out my wife couldn't ride her bike as she had a problem with her leg. We returned the bikes and without being asked they gave us a full refund....despite the fact we must have had the bikes for about 20 minutes before returning them. Excellent customer service!! Thanks again!!Written October 13, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MYS1 contributionThis was the most incredibly massage I've ever had. The whole experience was fantastic from the moment you step foot into the spa. It is calm, very clean, beautifully decorated, and you're taken care of by professional staff. The massage was with Aya who is intuitive, communicative and physically strong. She identified all of the pressure points, was methodical in her approach, leaving me feeling balanced and cared for. The aromas in the spa are clean and subtle, the lighting perfectly dimmed, and music was calming and suited to the atmosphere. I highly recommend this hidden gem downtown Vancouver.Written January 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wilson LVancouver, Canada3,953 contributionsVery average nightclub. Nothing special, but not the worst either. Drinks are decent though and priced well.Written February 9, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
