We went to Granville Island out of curiosity and to see what all the fuss was about. I must admit, we were pleasantly surprised and impressed. Our fear had been that this would be an area of one tourist souvenir type store after another. It isn't.
Our cab dropped us off in the centre of the market area. We went into the main building, past the most gorgeous produce and provisions you can imagine to find ourselves in a lovely area of vendors selling fabulous handicrafts, jewelry, art, gourmet items etc. The experience was more like a fancy craft show than a tourist attraction.
The other buildings housed many different artisans and lovely stores selling everything fabulous from indigenous art to unique designer clothes, to paper products!
There are options for all pocketbooks and tastes with a focus on quality.
The area has several eateries, a wonderful food court area with all kinds of interesting treats and an outdoor venue for music and art.
We spent half a day, ending with lunch at the Sandbar, but we could have stayed much longer!

Granville Island Market is a great place to start your visit to Vancouver and is definitely a must see - at least once! There are over 300 businesses operating here - it's packed full of gourmet food vendors, chocolate shops, bakeries, butchers, artisan boutiques, fresh fruit/veggie stands, and all sorts of other stuff.

We always visit when we're in the area - the pot pies from A La Mode are our savory go-to and for dessert we love the pastries at Stuart's Bakery. We've tried out quite a few of the vendors over the years of our visits and those two always stand out for us.

The market is very popular so it gets chaotic - especially when trying to find an empty lunch table. My only criticism is that the market needs to do a better job of cleaning off the tables but I know it's hard for everyone with staffing nowadays. The views from the seating areas are lovely! Expansive views of False Creek and the bridges and water taxis - a very nice place to refuel.

Prices vary widely between all the businesses but are mostly what you'd expect. Parking is in paid lots in the area and I don't remember the exact price but it wasn't outrageous. Definitely worth visiting - and be sure to check out the awesome massive art installation outside - called The Giants - They're very nicely painted, huge cement silos!!

The UBC MOA reopened in June after an 18 month seismic renovation and it's fantastic. We didn't know what to expect and we were so surprised (in a good way) to discover the extensive and impressive collection of objects in a beautiful building and an extraordinary setting. There are 44K objects with many on display or in drawers that are accessible to visitors.

We were there for the grand re-opening ceremonies and learned so much about the First People / First Nation if British Columbia.

We loved this place and highly recommend having it on your short list of places to visit in Vancouver.

Science World has an interesting mix of science. There are many interesting exhibits. We visited with our young nephews and nieces and they really enjoyed it. It is obviously a small city exhibit. Enjoy it for what it is. A good rainy day attraction.

We visited to check out the building design and the roof top garden area. Would be excellent to sit outside in the summer with a book. The library looked great for studying or reading with lots of quiet areas .

On of the best galleries I went to, I highly recommend visiting it. It’s a very unique and personal experience. Loved how it higlighted the impact and importance of first tribes in the BC history.

I have been to this place twice now to see the Vancouver Canucks, an NHL team.
Both times we had an amazing experience.
The arena is fairly standard as arenas go, nothing really outstanding. The seating was comfortable, the views were the same all over from higher up in the stands. The food and drinks was standard fare for an arena and similarly priced, which is normally more expensive than standard fast food outlets.
What I liked was the atmosphere, it was like a party atmosphere and everyone was pretty happy. There was no real hustle of a big crowd and everyone was polite and making sure everyone was safe.
I really enjoyed my time here watching the ice hockey. We had a great time.
It is easy accessible using the Vancouver Metro which made getting to it and back really easy.

While mainly for commuters to get to and from downtown, tourists should also consider rapid transit as a way to get around. If you are in a downtown hotel, it would be a pity to miss some of the sights because you don't wish to drive in a city where just about every main road appears to be under construction.
Clean, fast, timely; especially compared to some of the cities I've visited over the years. I hope you find my photos useful in confirming my comments.

The Orpheum Tour is a must-do for any Vancouverite wanting to discover some of our City's majestic history. This 90-minute behind-the-scenes exploration of the Orpheum, the Grand Old Lady of Granville Street—a storied concert hall that has managed to survive the vagaries of Vancouver's fickle nightlife, is genuinely fascinating. Our guide, Rob Haynes, gave an entertaining and often impassioned peek into the history of the building and its place not just in the local entertainment scene but in the grand old days of vaudeville. You'll explore areas few have trod and discover things about Vancouver's heritage that we overlook at our peril.

You can do this museum easily in an hour. One floor was under construction when we visited. There was an interesting exhibit about the forgeries of MacDonald paintings. The lockers are free and convenient to use.
