What travellers are saying
- DAMIAN L13 contributionsWe went on the horse drawn carriage tour which was very good. Two horses pull each carriage around the roads with the carriage holding around twenty people. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and there where a couple of stops one of which you can get off and get photos taken at some Totem poles. At the end we were able to get photographs taken beside the horses. The tour doesn't go all the way around the park which has a seawall all around it, which is great for walking, jogging and cycling. Stanley Park has many trails threw it and also contains the city off 'Vancouver Sea Aquarium'. The park is very accessible, and a great place to spend sometime with family walking and chilling out, and you could maybe bring a picnic for lunch.Written December 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - hngg190Garden Grove36 contributionsThis is similar like Pike Marketplace in Seattle. Getting there was easy if staying downtown near the river. It was a few minutes ride on the aquabus. The market was fill with all kind of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, cold cut and pasta. Everything look delicious. We tried the granola and butter pecan cook at The Stuart Bakery, they were so yummy that we had to return the next day for the. The blueberries bread at Terra Bread was very good. Most pastries and cakes in Vancouver had just the right amount of sugar. They don't leave the sweetness in your mouth that requires water to wash off. The soup and pot pie were great too. I would love to try everything there if I have time and room in my tummy for them. There were many little shops that had unique items as well. I'll definitely come back for more in the future.Written December 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can also get off and on into Stanley Park which was nice. If you dont want to walk you can rent bikes for a different experience. There were plenty of joggers and roller bladers too. The bikes and wheeled things have their own path so you dont have to worry about getting in someone's way. It is a lovely family friendly experience.Written October 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Having appeared in many films .. the exterior despite being different to the surrounding modern glass skyscrapers, belies the stunning internal art deco interior. Now predominantly offices, the access was mainly ground and 1st floor via a beautiful lift

They are well worth a Kodak moment.Written September 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AndrewF31_KAManresa, Spain166 contributionsA bike ride around the creek is a wonderful sight. Whether you're on the south side gazing at the skyscrapers or on the north side gazing at the other side, it's a pleasant place to spend some time taking in the views and scenery of this beautiful city.Written July 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LaBucheToronto, Canada58 contributionsClean and relatively quiet beach. It is much more crowded during the weekend. Try to be there at low tide to see and find shells and crabs.Written July 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Travel25346533585940 contributionsEnglish Bay Beach is a treat. Compared to other big city beaches, English Bay Beach is truly Extraordinary. The water, of course, is from The Pacific Ocean. There can be quite substantial water level variations. People are friendly and there are plenty of places to get treats.Written April 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hawaiian CanuckVancouver, Canada2,099 contributionsThis annual three night event (spread over a week at the end of July) has been held in Vancouver for over 3 decades. It is one of the premier international firework competitions in the world.
Minimum 350,000+ (usually 500,000) come to the English Bay shore to see it. Many come early in the day and stay on the beach until the 10 pm show. It lasts about 30 minutes, not including special crowd performances like aerial drone shows, musical acts, aerial acrobatics from Red Bull and other preshow events. Three countries usually present on a Saturday/Wednesday/Saturday rotation (used to be four) and tonight (2024) it was PORTUGAL. Wednesday is MALAYSIA and next Saturday is the UK.
Is it worth it? Well, it’s free, and there is lots to do and see (and eat) when at English Bay beach (the official main viewing area). If you are staying close to any great viewing area around the southeast part of the bay, it’s a great event to go to, especially with young families.
However, If you live away in other parts of Metro Vancouver, I don’t know if it’s worth coming all the way by car or transit for a 45 min show (including the preshow), unless you make a day of it. I would leave the car somewhere like Metrotown (if you live east of Burnaby) and take Skytrain or transit the rest of the way to prevent you from high parking costs and gridlock traffic downtown. You should at least experience it once.
I would even recommend buying the special dinner and viewing seat deal that some companies offer that has a separate private area with food stalls (food featuring specialties from wach or the three countries) and a raised seated viewing area or table). Or check out the many night fireworks cruises offered with dinner included.Written July 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Of course it is great beach to visit at all times of day. We have watched the Sunset while enjoying a nice bottle of wine. Many couples have enjoyed the Sunset here.Written April 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
