Victoria BC is stunning! The waterfront is alive with activity all day and early evening during the summer months. We walked all around and enjoyed the bagpipers, artisans, variety of restaurants, and people-watching. The walk is easy and mostly flat. The main streets are filled with cute shops and a variety of eateries. The Empress Hotel - a Fairmont property- hosts high tea and also the Miniature museum! Be sure to check out the very helpful visitors center. This area is fun for all ages and very accessible! A “must do” if visiting Victoria!

Fisherman's wharf is a beautiful area on the edge of the water with lots of restaurants/icecream places etc and where I assume people also live. We came here to take a whale watching tours, which I highly recommend if you like the sea and nature, despite being higher priced: you do not do this often, after all.

There is a large paid car park with offers for 3 hours for example, great for taking a tour, although our tour over stayed and thankfully we we not fined for some 15ming over.

This place was very lively even late May on a warm afternoon, although was empty upon returning at sunset. I would suspect in summer time to be always packed.

Victoria Pier is a lovely area to walk around and take in the fresh air and the wonderful views. There are plenty of boats, there is a range of eateries and other shops as well. A place to relax and enjoy.

The Sidney Pier was a pleasant area to spend an hour and explore, photographing the lovely area, and looking for sea glass! Yes, this beach is adorned with sea glass (and lots of people are hunting for it!) We found the walk from parking to the beach very easy. One can enjoy the sites without stepping onto the beach. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. But, the highlight is the wonderful breezes from the sea and the sound of seagulls!

The Westsong Walkway is a paved walkway starting near the Delta Hotel along the other side of the harbor and ending at the historic Esquimalt marina where you can take a water taxi back to the inner harbor .It's a great place to walk your pets or get in your steps for those fitness-minded. The views of the harbor are top notch especially great for those wanting great pics of the harbor

A must walk area to get anywhere and see the water, and people watching. The people watching at night was fun. Buskers, flea market type areas, people selling stuff, crazy character, good scenery of the harbor. There is a bit of everything here. At one point, it was crazy busy with people walking to and from all things night life. And watch your step out towards fthe road as bicycles were much quicker going by than cars. You must go here.

Lovely little park on the ocean, a few benches to sit and watch the harbor. Keep an eye out for birds and resident seals under the pier. We wish it was bigger!

This is Nanaimo's waterfront park. It connects to the waterfront walkway, and has the ferry to Newcastle. (not the ferry to Protection - that's from the nearby harbour). It is not a huge park. there are a lot of events here, often hosted by the City. Lots of music. The kids playground is great, with a zipline as well. Dogs on a leash. there's a small swimming beach which is set up for safety. It's quite wheelchair accessible. It also has a pier.

This is a nice way to spend an hr or so after dinner on a pleasant evening. Have a look at some interesting craft incl a 100 yr old large wooden cruiser, among others, harbour scenery, and a bunch of seals hanging out close to the docks. Very relaxing.
