An amazing experience, not to be missed. The skipper was friendly, knowledgeable, and thoughtful with regard to photography ensuring the sun was behind us. The boat ride in a rigid inflatable was good fun.

We have a membership so go at least once or twice a month. Friendly staff, always a good walk and the slide is fun. We usually go in the morning when there are few people but sometimes have encountered large school groups. We have taken friends up and with the 20% discount from our membership, it's still hefty at $35. Hard to spend more than 2 hrs here although we have had friends who have gone up and down the slide several times.

Views are breath-taking. We've seen it in rain, fog, clear blue skies and snow. Blue skies are actually boring as it's the same view. Clouds make it more interesting. On Hwy 1, just before the Skywalk, is a free viewpoint. Stop there so you can get a picture of the inlet which is only partially viewable from the Skywalk. It gives you a different perspective of the whole inlet area.

When it's possible (ie. use more than once) and there's a sale (usually March and Dec), get a membership. It will pay itself off after two times and you'll find more excuses to go.

Great Botanical Garden. In the heart of Vancouver Island, that superb garden is a must! So beautiful and we are more city folks than nature lovers.

We took the tour on 23rd September. Our tour guide was Nathalie, our boat captain Trevor. Nathalie was very well informed, keeping us constantly updated during the tour. Trevor went out of his way to take us to the best spots to see wildlife. We saw numerous birds, sea-lions, otters, humpbacks and orcas, following an orca pod for miles.
It was amazing, the trip of a lifetime, well organised, well equipped and well led - a huge thank you to Nathalie and Trevor for making it an incredible experience! Thank you also to the shore based team for their part in making the tour possible.

Brenda was amazing, we (my gf and I) were the only ones on the tour and she made us feel like VIP guests. Will be recommending this tour all round.

Superb experience with Jo as our guide: cheerful (despite the downpour!) and informative. The food choices were varied and delicious. Come hungry!

We viewed breaches and glimpses of humpback whales for more than an hour as they fed. We also saw sea lions. Our guide was very knowledgeable.

Check-in was fast and painless. We were boarded efficiently and with good humour. Liam, Tyler and Brad were great hosts. Liam is a recent marine biologist graduate and so was able to add a unique and sympathetic perspective to the local whale-watching industry. Both he and Tyler peppered the tour with interesting facts about the local fauna and flora. Although he was captaining the boat, Brad was also great at shouting out to those inside, where the next sighting was likely to be. We saw lots of activity from humpback whales and it was helpful that Liam takes pictures on the tour to be shared with the group later. This meant we could watch these magnificent creatures with our own eyes rather than through a lens. We went out in blue sky, encountered fog on the trip but still had some spectacular sightings including a variety of seals and sea lions. We were looked after by a great team and would not hesitate to recommend this company and tour!

Great tour and well worth it. Captain Mick is so enthusiastic and takes delight in finding wildlfe away from the crowds. He knows the area so well and we saw humpback, harbour seals, sea otters, bald eagles and even a pelican! Mick knows so much about animal behaviour and this pays off on the tour. Well-organised and friendly team.

this is my second time with 5 star whale watching . I like support local companies and they do a great job. Whales are unpredictable but seeing three whales was super cool. The naturalist were awesome and the captain ( Andrew ) always knew where to go to find those beautiful creatures . Will definetly make another adventure with this company.

Best way to see the sights of a new city. We never would have stumbled upon all the places we saw or learned the stories we heard. Our tour guide Dyson was exceptional - upbeat knowledgeable and fun. Very good value with the bites and sips that are included. Would recommend anyone whether you’ve been to Victoria before or not, take this tour - you’ll enjoy it!

This is a must do tour – no matter the season!

We booked last minute on a sunny but cold winter’s day in December, and unsure whether it would be worthwhile given we were told it was not whale season.

When we got there, our guide Mark – who was a local with a wealth of knowledge on the surrounding waters and the local whale population – said “it’s always whale season here”.

We were blessed, seeing Humpbacks, Orcas (a resident pod of 14 whales which was very special), sea lions, harbour seals and countless sea birds.

Mark was an elite tour guide, whale spotter and boat captain.

The boat ride is thrilling and a little bumpy, if you’re not into speed boats perhaps opt for a larger boat with cover. However, being on the zodiac meant a more intimate experience and close up encounters.
