Victoria Harbour is so beautiful with the flowers, Parliament buildings, The Empress, interesting boats, float planes and water taxis. There are restaurants and shops close by to get a nice meal and some souvenirs. It’s worth a stop to check it out any season, day time, or in the evening with the lights.

A lovely large park running from close to the harbour to the cliffs at the southern edge of Victoria. Named for the beacons on the hill used to guide sailors safely in and out of Victoria, there is plenty to do in the park and plenty of space in which to do it. There are sports pitches, including a cricket pitch, the tallest totem pole, a moss lady, plenty of water and a viewpoint below which we came across deer wandering quite unfazed by their human neighbours.

We spent a long afternoon here in the exhibits and at the Imax. The exhibits were really interesting and even kept the kids (tweens) engaged. The IMAX was fantastic. We saw the one on the Arctic one in 3D and it was beautiful, but sad (talking about the impact of climate change). Definitely don't rush through and savor the exhibits.

A small wharf full of restaurants gift shops and the most amazing floating homes.

Easy flat walk from Victoria about 15-20min along the foreshore.

    Worth a visit.

It’s probably one of the most photographed buildings in Victoria because it is so regal looking in the day time. However, in the evening when all the lights are on it looks magical. We’ve been inside and it’s very nice. Also, we’ve had a delicious lunch in the small restaurant in there. Because it’s a government building, the outside area is often the site of protests as well.

We visited with two tween children. The kids loved the displays, which were interesting for sure. It's a bit pricey (like $20CAD for adults), so if you decide to go, make sure you take your time enjoying the displays.

This woodland/wildflower garden sequestered in a residential neighborhood (at 1964 Fairfield Road) offers an uncrowded, unique garden experience – blending natural & enhanced landscapes into an artistic tapestry. Native ferns and Garry Oaks dazzle, along with the Gargantuan rhododendrons snaking skyward, tranquil lily ponds reflecting darting dragonflies, lichen-splotched boulders warming slender lizards & wizened Bonsai trees, & eye-catching flowers brightening footpaths that serenely circle to secluded resting spots. Definitely a place to slow your pace, and immerse yourself in the tranquility of Nature.

Street-side parking is limited, but you can park on side streets, and easily walk to the garden entryway – where there may be several tables with native plants or tulip bulbs for sale. Admission is by donation, and a friendly volunteer will greet you, & provide a flyer for your self-guided walking tour.

We enjoyed two hours wandering around – photographing the flowers & wild birds (over 20 species noted there); and talking to other visitors, as well as chatting with the very knowledgeable, volunteer garden staff. When we visited in September, the Golden-crowned Kinglets & Anna’s Hummingbirds were most enchanting! At the Summerhouse, be sure to browse through the wonderful photo books that identify (by season) so many of the featured flowers & trees.

And don’t forget to look in the eloquent Gift Shop by the Teahouse. Our favorite were the handcrafted porcelain pins of cats & dogs – with “22-carat gold lustre”, created by artist Winnie Tam.

In 2000, The Land Conservancy of British Columbia acquired Abkhazi Garden “to protect this local treasure” – which is truly a memorable Victoria experience, off the beaten path, and not to be missed!

This was a fun little adventure during our Olympic park visit. We did the package deal of hotels on each side and the ferry crossing to and from. Loading and unloading was very organized and efficient - just don't forget your passport! And make sure you are there the 90 minutes (minimum!) early when coming back into the US. Once you are there, you can't leave, so have snacks, drinks etc packed. Folks that are veterans of the process had chairs etc in their vehicles.

this was easy to find and a great place to stop and eat and if you are up to the very long walk to the point then to watch the ocean is amazing of what you might see. it is also very congested place and was crowded for sure to see the sunset. Definately worth a look see and walk

Since part of this street has been regulated to cater to walkers, it has become my favourite place to shop, linger or have a bite to eat. Being able to walk on the street itself makes me feel less crammed and gives me a safer perspective to view the trees, people and historical buildings. Tourists know it is a great part of their stop in this capital city. I feel proud to call it my downtown.

Victoria Pier is a lovely area to walk around and take in the fresh air and the wonderful views. There are plenty of boats, there is a range of eateries and other shops as well. A place to relax and enjoy.
