- DeborahjuneToronto, Canada735 contributionsNot just an apple farm!!! You can buy lots of different kinds of fruits and vegetables here but there is so much more to experience. We visited just before Hallowe'en so the pumpkin patch was full of pumpkins. They had train trips to the patch many many times per day. Great play areas for kids to have fun. The bakery sells lots of homemade items including their famous apple pies. The freezer is full of baked goods including local apple sausages, meat pies, breads or purchase items fresh if preferred. The apple room has an area where you can test any of the different apples that they grow and sell on the farm. We enjoyed some hot apple cider too - delicious! There's also a wonderful gift shop where you can purchase gifts and items but also any of their homemade jams, jellies and sauces. They make everything right here on the farm - a great way to keep their staff employed during the winter months!!Written November 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Christian MCopenhagen, Denmark6,232 contributions"Parabola, Lookout, And the Wall Loop Trail" is the name of this beautiful hike listed on the AllTrails app.
The trail is approximately 7 km long, of moderate difficulty, and leads along good, narrow paths through wooded areas and out onto a long stretch with dizzying views down to the lake, which looks absurdly azure from high above in the sunshine. This is where you can take the dream photo that justifies your whole visit to Vernon and the park.
Be prepared for a rather long and steep climb at the beginning (if you hike clockwise, as recommended). It's not exactly difficult, but it's tough, hence the moderate rating.
The hike has almost no markers and is difficult to navigate without a guide. This is where AllTrails comes in handy. Try googling the site (it'll become your new best friend).Written August 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not a bad word about it.
But if you're looking for a more 'secret' beach with fewer people, less noise, and the most beautiful surroundings, then make your way to this park, which is a 20-minute drive from Vernon.
There are several small coves and beaches here, easily accessible from the parking lot (free parking).
I bet most of the bathers are camping right above, and that's still not many people. You'll love arriving at such a peaceful and scenic bathing spot.
But as mentioned: Shh, don't tell too many people about this well-kept secret.Written August 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The trail is pancake flat and runs along Kalamalka Lake and Oyama Lake – 25 km each way.
Unless you rent bikes for the whole day (Kalavida Surf Shop right by the route is recommended), you'll need to strategize your bike ride: Do you want to cycle the entire route back and forth, or will you make small stops along the way for lunch, photos, and swimming breaks? You can't do both.
We wish we had made more stops and swum in the clear water. It turned out that the first part of the route along Kalamalka Lake is much more scenic and enjoyable to cycle than the part along Oyama Lake; the latter is pure, raw exercise without much charm.
Bring food, water, sunscreen, and perhaps swimwear. And look forward to a wonderful ride along the disused railway.Written August 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. So, you can begin your journey from either end.
The hike is just over 3 km each way, with some additional stairs down to view the waterfall.
We recommend hiking first and then cooling down at the foot of the small but beautiful waterfall. Maybe even dip your feet in the cool water.
The hike is considered moderate, which means it's neither very easy nor very hard, and that’s accurate. The trail is quite gnarly, filled with roots and a few technical sections. Anyone in reasonable shape can manage it, but it’s definitely not suitable for those with mobility issues or very young children.
Don’t forget to enjoy the sound of the babbling creek all the way there and back.Written August 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The views of Kalamalka Lake from each site are amazing - you give up a little privacy to get the view. Our site was plenty big enough for two tents. All of the bathrooms were clean and had flush toilets. There were free warm showers and two dish washing stations which also had warm water.
The park host was friendly and there was ice and firewood available to purchase.
There is good access to the trail along the lake so this is so great place for a walk or bike ride. The lake is clean and really clear. Access to the lake is off the trail and there are small 'beach' areas you can walk down to.
The campground is just below the highway so there is some noise from that (unavoidable). The beach areas are very rocky so we'd recommend water shoes.
We had lovely 5 days at Kekuli Bay and would definitely visit again.Written August 15, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TheKid888Vancouver, Canada28 contributionsBeautiful in the fall with the fall colors on trees. Lovely time at the family corn maze, kids haunted house, tractor ride with jokes and stories from Osa. We love the reasonably priced sweets at the General Store. My kiddos love the model train exhibit; so detailed truly amazing.Written October 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SkwikiBurnaby, Canada1,777 contributionsWe make quick stops here quite often as we drive through the Okanagan. The other day we took our time and watched as the lake colours changed depending on the sun and clouds and the fact that it was later in the day. It felt like about 10 minutes but looking at the time stamp on our photos it was over 40!
We now know, relax, stop and watch the show on partial cloudy days. Just be careful pulling back out onto the highway. Speed limit is about 90k/h.Written September 19, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of shade under the trees to keep cool during the summer heat. Definitely recommend spending the evening and checking out all the vendors. Lots of yummy food truck options for the whole family.Written August 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Karen PEdmonton, Canada8 contributionsWe came across this beach while checking out houses in the area. It's somewhat small but with that parking was easy and it was quiet. Not much else other than it provides shade with the great trees and it is a clean park/beach.Written May 6, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David and Evely... W2 contributionsBeyond Escape Belief Rooms is a must try
for anyone interested in a fun, interactive experience. We tried and completed 3 of the 6 rooms available. Each room had a well developed theme with a variety of puzzles requiring us to use our senses.
If you haven’t tried an Escape Room Beyond Escape is a good place to start. If you have tried other venues Beyond Escape offers challenges you may not have encountered before.Written November 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - piloto321San Francisco, CA5 contributionsI signed up for a snowmobile tour on the wrong date, entirely my mistake. I reached out to the owner via email and he responded immediately (on Christmas Eve). There were no alternative dates that worked and he promptly refunded my money. Refreshing to see great customer service with integrity. I'm looking forward to finding another time to ride with this business.Written December 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mrsnweaverRichmond, Canada3 contributionsI haven't even gotten to the spa and I am NOT impressed with their customer service or followup! My husband booked a package with the resort which came with vouchers to the spa. We filled out the online treatment request form at the beginning of August while our stay is for mid September. After no call or email back a week later my husband called and no answer so he left a detailed message. Another email and call within the next week nothing. The third time he called and after realizing they clearly DONT listen to their voicemails I told him to call the Resort since they have been nothing but helpful. What do you know the gentleman wrote out our info and hand delivered it to the spa himself. That got their attention to which they called and even though our stay was 3 1/2 weeks away said it is all booked up and only offered us a couples massage. We can do that at home without wasting $150 I find this ridiculous!! No other treatment or alternative was offered! My husband then asked are we able to bring in our own champagne to which the response was no alcohol is allowed in the spa to which he said EXCEPT for the champagne we would be getting in the couples package we wanted. We took it for we felt like it was all we could do but I am NOT looking forward to it and WILL be reaching out to the resort for alternative options. After the phone call the Spa then finally responds to our online form request that treatments are booked 4-6 weeks in advance. WE DID!!! Not impressed with the Spa's customer service, accountability or followup!Written September 9, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
