We had a lovely visit here and can get an idea of how busy it would be at the height of snow season. This was the tail end of the season and it was still busy.

Want to channel your inner biathlon rifle shooting energy? A Biathlon Rifle Shooting experience at the Whislter Olympic Park will satisfy this desire. We went up on a sunny Sunday to be shown how biathletes shoot their 22 rifles at distant targets. With the demo done, it’s time for you to follow their lead and fire away at the targets. You are given the option of choosing a wide or narrower target. I did pretty well on my first round, then moved to the narrower target…it was more challenging...have to keep your sighting really steady.
It’s interesting to hear the guide relate of the routine the biathletes go through. Another interesting thing is that the positions visitors shoot from are the one closest to the wind blocking wall. These are the priority ones for the athletes would compete to get, as the ones farther away from the wall would encounter more wind, which can affect the shooting.
The Biathlon Shooting is done in a social distancing manner. Disc Golf is also offered. The Biathlon experience is offered Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday until August 30th. There is also a winter Biathlon shooting experienced offered.
After our shooting experience, we hiked around, catching a look at the ski jump set-ups. The big bonus was walking around in the fresh alpine air.

This was a great experience, however with the prices being quite high, for our family of 14 there was no group rate to help in reducing the cost. Once on the mountain majority all of the eateries were closed....

My daughter (13) and I (55) did a two day camp and loved it. Nessa was our coach and John (owner/coach) also joined on one day. Both are very experienced and made it so fun and we learned a lot, got better and want to come back more :) We were more interested in free skiing and jumps, but realized being more comfortable with moguls can unlock the mountain. By the end we both got better with moguls feeling more control. With free skiing my daughter improved a ton. Nessa coached her down Spanky's Ladder!! I was worried the camp was only for experts but seems to be for intermediates and up. There was a mix of family, adult and ripper groups.

Great tubing activity for those with no experience at snow sports. The tubing was fun, and was fast enough for me! Due to low snowfall at the start of the ski season, only 2 of the 7 tubing lanes were open. Tickets weren’t being sold online, only from the tubing park. On arrival, we needed to complete a waiver, then have our names added to the waitlist. At 11.45am, this was a 1 hour wait. You could be sent a text, or just leave and come back closer to your designated time. Others had been arriving from 10.30am to start lining up, before the park opened at 11am. We were given half-price tickets due to the conditions - as only 2 lanes were open, it took around 20 mins for each round trip, including: the tubing ride, travelling back up to the top via-magic carpet, and queuing to wait for your next turn. In our 1 hour session, we fit in 3 rides. Beautiful location and it was snowing during our session.

We could have stayed there for hours, staring ahead with a group of teens and marveling at the profound beauty surrounding us. Highly recommended!

The Whistler village centre is very pleasant and quite extensive with many shops and restaurants and even a museum. It is car free, very special of course in North America. Even though artificially constructed in the sixties, the atmosphere is that of a European skiing resort centre, very gemütlich!
