This is a fairly new gondola that runs between the Whistler and Blackcomb ski mountains.
Its 4.4 kms or 2.73 miles between the stations, takes 11 minutes and 1 cabin arrives every 49 seconds at each station.
There are glassed bottom gondolas on the system and you can line up for these at designated places in the gondola building. There is a different line up area for the standard gondola's.
The views are amazing over the ski fields and the mountains and also over the valley below are excellent.
Its a very smooth ride and well worth taking.
This is included in your mountain Epic One Pass / lift ticket.
You can get a ticket for going up the mountain and crossing in the gondola for a touristy view even if you're not skiing or boarding. This was actually pretty popular when I was there as a lot of people come up to see the mountains.
Its a feat of engineering that is well worth experiencing.

This was a nice little reprieve from the tourist trap town of Whistler. It’s about 20 kms away and when we were there it was very quiet and peaceful. The trails are not treacherous and the views and smells of nature are exactly what you expect to see in British Columbia.
I could’ve stayed here all day. There was no entry fee when we were there, not sure if that’s the norm.
If you’re in Whistler take a break here.

Friendly folks at the passivhaus (got lessons and rentals there too) and a beautiful day — mostly went around Lost Lake because we are beginners but lessons made it easy and fun.

This was an absolute dream bucket list item of mine, to snowboard at Whistler Blackcomb mountain, the thing of mythical winter wonderland you had when growing up on the beach in the north coast of NSW's, Australia. At the tender age of 50, after doing the kids thing and getting time to ourselves to travel, I finally made it to this amazing winter wonderland to snowboard for a week. It was everything and more than I wanted. Its a massive system of runs and I explored it as much as I could over that week. I preferred the Whistler side of the mountain but still enjoyed the Blackcomb side. You have to see it to believe it, its just an amazing place to witness. It is the largest ski area in north America and you can understand why.
I cant recommend the place enough if you want an amazing winter skiing or boarding experience.
    Just WOW, WOW, and WOW.

Accidentally ended up at Joffre Lake, didn't expect the snow to be so thick. Walking on the icy lake surface for the first time, I couldn't help but worry about it cracking beneath me. The weather was nice, and we could even see distant blue glaciers. Looking forward to hiking here after the snow melts.

The Squamish-Lil’wat cultural centre (a not for profit organization) looks like no expense was spared in creating it. Stunning architecture, very luxurious materials. This perhaps explains the relatively high admission price. The artefacts on display are not all that special in my opinion, but admittedly tell an interesting story. A lot of rooms were closed when I visited. The gift shop is attractive and the Thunderbird café popular with visitors.

The easy/better way to get to the train wreck is to turn off Hwy 99 at Cheakamus Lake Rd then go right on Legacy Way and turn right onto Janes Lake Rd to either parking lot. Go to sign for Train wreck follow trail & sign. Go over suspension bridge and your there.

Went with my girlfriend, had a great time, we were both beginners but the staff cater to all abilities.

The chaps on duty when we were there were fun, joined in and made sure we had a nice time.

    Highly recommended.

Want to channel your inner biathlon rifle shooting energy? A Biathlon Rifle Shooting experience at the Whislter Olympic Park will satisfy this desire. We went up on a sunny Sunday to be shown how biathletes shoot their 22 rifles at distant targets. With the demo done, it’s time for you to follow their lead and fire away at the targets. You are given the option of choosing a wide or narrower target. I did pretty well on my first round, then moved to the narrower target…it was more challenging...have to keep your sighting really steady.
It’s interesting to hear the guide relate of the routine the biathletes go through. Another interesting thing is that the positions visitors shoot from are the one closest to the wind blocking wall. These are the priority ones for the athletes would compete to get, as the ones farther away from the wall would encounter more wind, which can affect the shooting.
The Biathlon Shooting is done in a social distancing manner. Disc Golf is also offered. The Biathlon experience is offered Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday until August 30th. There is also a winter Biathlon shooting experienced offered.
After our shooting experience, we hiked around, catching a look at the ski jump set-ups. The big bonus was walking around in the fresh alpine air.

This was a great experience, however with the prices being quite high, for our family of 14 there was no group rate to help in reducing the cost. Once on the mountain majority all of the eateries were closed....

The wide, pedestrian-only streets and well placed parking and terrific shopping and dining options are terrific. Whistler may be our new favorite Rocky Mountain resort town.

Found this park by accident but so enjoyed the stop there. Summer weather in October so warm enough to go swimming. No crowds. New facilities. Floating dock to swim to. Pet friendly, There's an off lease area and the pups were having a blast. Be alert for bears; we saw one there by the bike path chomping away on the grass. People just stood still watching him. Then he lumbered across the road by the car park and headed off in search of more food. Worth a visit if you want a drive-about.
