Very pleasant visit overall. Enjoyed part of the seal trail and the chickadee trail as well as a couple of lookouts and one area where you could get down to shore level. The picnic tables near the barbecue were fully shaded, which we appreciated on a very sunny hot day. It was high tide so we didn't see the mud flats or salt marsh.

Some of the trail signage was a bit confusing and could have been more clearly marked, particularly with paths that appeared to intersect on the large map but were not marked that way on the trails.

Same challenge with the MacLaren Beach / wooded trail further north of the main park. It wasn't super clear how to get to the beach part although the wooded part was enjoyable. Although there seems to be an informal trail from that parking lot through a field along the woods, it wasn't well maintained and wasn't the wooded trail we thought it was going to be.

GO THERE FOR THE FISH AND CHIPS!!!! :D :D :D Tasteful and affordable. The best of our whole trip.
Other than that, it was a nice but crowded ordinary market.

Before leaving Saint John, my husband and I stopped to view the reversing falls, which is where the Saint John River and Bay of Fundy meet. The water appears to flow in two different directions and creates a small whirlpool. It's quite neat to see and changes based on the tides.

Pleasant surprise in Saint John. Well marked with many options and ability to drive around and park closer to the parts you wish to visit. Nice display for each province and territory. Saw some local ducks and ducklings. Seem to be enjoyed by many local walkers and joggers.

Walked through a couple of times and drove round it even more. Statues abound but most impressive is the old bandstand in the middle.

This Victorian Gothic church is magnificent. I only wished I could have gone inside to see the interior, but as everyone knows, churches are no longer open to the public except on Sundays and special events. (In Europe, most of the well-known cathedrals and churches are open for viewing). Interesting fact: The bell tower and steeple is 210 feet tall and topped by a 6-ft long wood gilt fish weathervane. The fish was an early symbol for Christianity (and not a symbol of fishing in Saint John, which is what most people would probably think).

This place is great! I loved the paintings, pottery, textiles and jewelry in particular. There are so many talented artists featured and a wide variety of art styles. I'll definitely stop in again on my next trip to St. John.

Perhaps Saint John City Market siphoned off many visitors, or the void of people may have been attending a street fair that weekend in June. Since the tour group was on a tight schedule with many attractions to visit, I had only a few minutes to walk through the area. Sadly, it was enough. Given the street fair, don’t take my monocular view of this site as a recommendation to or not to visit. The time of morning I was there, few people were milling about. Perhaps nightlife is more inspiring.

The Cathedral is a towering structure in Portland. The Cathedral was build in the 1860s and serves as an example of Gothic Revival. You can develop an appreciation for the sheer size of the building during a walk on the grounds. Note the many windows, which I found to be interesting.

This Geopark takes up a big chuck of southern NB with lots of different geographical experiences. Plan to do something else and admire the geography while doing it.

Fresh produce, excellent fish, delicious food, great coffee. Dog friendly and a nice walk around the square.
Can't think of a better morning.

We were in St. John on a cruise. We weren't excited about the excursions available so decided to just explore on our own. The Harbor Passage was the walk that took us close to Reversing Falls. We were there during low tide which was impressive. We saw seals there which we didn't expect. The signs talking about the history of the area were nice to read. This made our walking tour worth the trip.

Not a great deal to do in St John really but this quirky little Police Museum has some interesting artefacts and stories to review. Very friendly staff and all it asks for is a donation. Worth popping in for sure.

November 24, 2017 we discovered this park of paths and will certainly walk it again. I was surprised and did not know that such a gem was here. It is really great! This is not to say that there is no room for improvements. Let there be a few benches here and there for lingering moments. I only saw one bin for garbage; there needs to be more. A few signs a long the way would offer assurance that you have not gone into the wilds of no return. This park is worthy of attention given and frequency of visit. Almost a first class spot!

The Loyalist Burial Ground is very historic (obviously) and has beautiful tombstones and monuments, several brick and granite walkways, stately trees, nice landscaping, plus a beaver fountain.
