If you like music, this would be the perfect place for you. If you don't, that's ok as well. To say that you were in the oldest store on the oldest street in the oldest city in North America, would be completely amazing. It has tons of Newfoundland music and instruments to play that music. Staff allows you to touch and pick up instruments and they'll help you with anything you want. This place is absolutely and incredibly cool.

Such a cute little shop downtown. They always have new items in stock and unique jewellery. There are lots of items made by local artists and local businesses which is nice to see. They always dress up the front windows very nicely as well. Definitely pop in for a look around.

If you are a record collector, or you're in search of the perfect record / music for someone, whether it be yourself, or someone else, Fred's on Duckworth Street is the place to go. Just look for the purple exterior and you're there. Great staff, very attentive.

Cute place to visit with children who like sweets. They have a great selection of unique chocolate bars and candies. Our son was in heaven.
They even carry the full line of Mr. Beast bars!

I went into almost every craft store in St. John's (or that's what my husband said!) and this was my favorite for handmade knitted crafts. I purchased a pair of the warmest knit mittens ever, with a classic pattern - worth every penny (45 CAD)!

Just take a look inside this small store, and you will find the best handiwork in knitwear and accessories. I can't wait to wear my mittens when winter returns to Chicago in a few months! :)

Great place for souvenirs. Carries stuff made locally and supports local historical society. Prices comparable to other stores. If you are going to just one store this should be the one.

After you've walked up and down the hills of St. John's, seen the other sights, and twacked your way through downtown, by all means, stop in at Irene's. It's wall to wall delights. I need to make a correction as to when I went. It was 2015, not 2020, but the drop down menu wouldn't allow me to put the date in there. Obviously, though, my visits to Irene's so impressed me that five years later, I still want to talk about it.

Loved walking along Posie Row and browsing and buying in the shops. Love that there are lots of locally made crafts there. So many items to choose from; I bought earrings and candles. Excellent area.

I found some postcards that I hadn't seen before. Also ended up buying some Newfoundland chocolate. Nice selection of merchandise.

There is all kinds of souvenirs and trinkets. Literally anything you collect you will find here! I was on the hunt for a shirt or sweater with a humpback whale on it and was recommended to try here, I was disappointed as I wasn't able to find one, but there are lots of other stuff there

We went into this gift shop to look for some ugly sticks. Came out with 2 - the owner helped us pick out the best and provided us with information on the area.
