- Paul PSudbury, Canada52 contributionsWonderful experience. A quaint little village. The food was excellent. We had the fish and chips and tried their Iceberg beer. Both were fabulous. The flakiest fish I’ve ever eaten.Written September 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Heidi F394 contributionsNot much of a farmers market when we came around lunch time on a Saturday in June.
Outside there were maybe two stands selling plants, one or two with a small assortment of veggies and then indoors food stalls and handcrafted / homemade goods.
It was still worth having lunch and I must say I had the best Shawarma so far!
Be prepared to be entirely undecided food wise because it’s all different and all mouthwatering.Written June 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Today I witnessed young pigs in a small pen up to their ankles in mud and their own excrement rooting for food in their own filth. Pigs are naturally clean animals who, if given the space, will not soil their eating and living areas. These intelligent animals have no dry area to retreat from the mud and if they also sleep in that muddy pen, one can only imagine the awful lives they lead 24/7. The adult pigs fared no better in their muddy pens. Pigs will wallow in mud for sun protection but no pig would prefer to live in the kind of filth and stench they are subjected to at Lester's Farm. Currently they have a new litter of piglets and the mother and babies are in a dry pen with clean straw. Lester's is encouraging the public to come meet these adorable piglets. the truth is those piglets will go from a clean hygenic environment to the one I just described once they have grown out of their value as very young piglets. Truly inhumane practices there.Written August 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Gr8 Travel Tips | Travel BlogBritish Columbia, Canada523 contributionsAn excellent 3 hour guided walking food tour in the Historical District of St. John's. This tour gives you an opportunity to sample some of the local dishes of Newfoundland and at the same time, learn a but about the history of St. John’s as you walk along its historical streets. The food & our guide were excellent!
