The Views of the Bay of Fundy are amazing. The first breath of ocean air is immediately uplifting. Tides were up and down 24 feet and visitors had seen Orca whales the day we went. The gift shop at the lighthouse has many beautiful handmade and local gifts. Walking on the Jurassic 305 million year-old volcanic rocks along the shore where Pangea had once been is a history moment in itself.

This is something I didn't expect as I was leaving Digby. I saw the film and I love her folk art paintings, so I had to check it out. Being from New England, I haven't seen many 'replica' houses (they're all real and date back to the 1600s), but this was enchanting.

Head out of Westport, past the church with the spire and follow the unmade road to the west, you'll eventually come to a lighthouse. The views are incredible and it is just a lovely spot. No designated parking but plenty of areas to pull in. Nice walks around.

Good place to go and see the sunset. Sit on the rocks and see the sun go down. Out of the way and quiet.

Having seen the Maud Lewis movie a year or so ago, we were delighted to happen across the commemorative park for her original home site near Digby. It is worth a stop to see the replica house made out of metal, but to exact dimensions, that the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and the Friends of Maud Lewis Foundation have erected. Lovely gardens, parking area, picnic tables and interpretive plaques are here for your pleasure. There is no gift shop at this location. No charge for this worthwhile stop. A poignant, peaceful place.
