Great place to walk to the many shops and restaurants along the Halifax waterfront. The Bluenose II has also been know to be docked there at certain times of the year.

Although the bulk of the flowers and trees were not yet at full bloom, this is a stunning place to stroll around for an hour or 2.

It is no wonder that no one wanted to try to attack Halifax by harbour. They wouldn't have stood a chance from the fortification here. You can see everything up and down the harbour and the approaches to the city. They still fo reenactments here and every day a noon they do a ceremony where they shoot off the cannon.

Excellent museum, learned alot about Halifax explosion and the Titanic. Also learned alot about many shipwrecks off the coast of Nova Scotia. Lots of models of important ships found in the museum too. Definitely recommend!

This to me is a must do as it is unique and inexpensive. There are 2 different ferry locations to go to on the Dartmouth side, they bot dock at the same terminal in Halifax. You can ride on the lower deck to let the wind hit your face and witness the skylines of Halifax and Dartmouth. See Canadian Navy Ships up close and get a picturesque view of the 2 bridges spanning the cities. A different perspective.

Located in downtown Halifax this is a small but mighty brewery tour. You move through a couple of areas, and get tales of with the history of Alexander Keith and his brewery. Best part of the tour is the tasting room where the maritime comes alive. The barkeeps do some great maritime songs while you enjoy a pint or two.

If you are near Spring Garden Road you need to visit the Halifax Central Library at Spring Garden and Queen. It is an amazing structure with plenty of open space to relax and enjoy the views from the top floor or the rooftop gardens.

Many known and unknown bodies from the Titanic are buried here. It is a great place to reflect on our historic past.

Lovely place to walk. We went from downtown Halifax (Marriott Harbourfront) along the boardwalk and then next to a road which had a lot of truck traffic but was interesting enough as you could see the cargo containers being moved around and loaded. The park was great to walk through with wide paths and nice views of the water. We came back along Young Street which was lined with gorgeous old homes. A nice long outing.

Very nice art gallery with friendly staff. The Maud Lewis exhibit was excellent, also saw a Deanne Fitzpatrick rug hook art exhibit which was impressive too. Indigenous art also worth checking out!
The gift shop has a great selection of small gift ideas including Maud items and some rug hook art.

During our “10-Day Canada and New England” cruise aboard Caribbean Princess ship last October, we had a chance to visit Halifax Seaport Farmer’s Market near Pier 21 and the Waterfront Boardwalk. After a pleasant walk along Halifax Waterfront Boardwalk, we visited the market which was between the boardwalk and Pier 21 where our ship was waiting for us. The market was vibrant and bustling with crowds around so many eateries along with diverse farm product and sea food stalls. Street musicians were performing music, generating a festive mood. One side of the market had a great view of the sea and an island with a beautiful red lighthouse. It was an interesting attraction in Halifax.
