We had been wanting to make this trip for awhile. However, the weather made our visit a challenge. Even though I had watched the weather reports ahead of time, we underestimated just how cold and wet Halifax could be the end of June. But we managed the Art Museum with Maud Lewis' artwork (an absolute must), The Citadel (dress warmly), and Historical Properties along the waterfront, along with the Maritime Museum. The terrain is very hilly (think steep), and you need to take that into account. There are plenty of places to eat downtown, and that's where we were. My husband said Pickford and Black had excellent fish and chips, and their Reuben sandwich was divine. The Bluenose II was warm and comfy, and clearly a local hangout.
