It was pretty crowded for a Tuesday, but it was beautiful outside and there was room to sit and people watch. Pepper's passion for craft beer and explaining tasting notes, options to try, you can really tell that Pepper loves their job! Will be back for sure. The beer and customer service was AMAZING!
Also some regulars were there and had great conversations with them also and about the Craft beer world. My experience with them online has been very poor and the way they have interacted with me over what seemingly should have just been a simple interaction, was made into more than it needed to be with the owner. The business posted a picture online for a new business, an indoor playground area nearby run by another company who just moved in and said you can "wait" with them (Serpent Brewery), while your child plays at or in this indoor play area. This to me suggested they were stating it was okay to leave your child in the new indoor play area, and go into their business nearby which is a bar/restaurant/brewery while you "wait" for your child which was also wrote like that, in quotations. Further, this indoor play area is a no re-entry for children, once they go through the gym set they have to leave. So the wording of the whole post online seemed in very poor taste as you would never leave your child alone and go get a drink or enter a restaurant nearby, and you should never make a direct or indirect joke about this I felt, so online I had asked them if they were suggesting to leave your child unattended? I grew up in this community, it was not the safest of places to put yourself or your children in, when there is potential alcohol involved as well. This area may have had a fresh new paint job put over it, but for many many years this was a not so great part of town and you knew to keep your distance. Things are always improving however which is good. The company immediately blocked me online however after simply writing no. I wrote a review on Google about my experience with them after this, and they responded in a very condescending manner, and also advising that they have had many parents who drop their children off near by at local businesses/areas and come in and shop for a drink, pint, etc with them or at least, again, that's what they seem to suggest and told me to relax and have a drink myself as I "need it", and further accused me of not picking my words correctly, all the while choosing the worst possible way and words themselves to deal with that situation. The response on Google, for me still does not make it clear or not what they had suggested originally. The business could have easily just clarified what they meant, on their original post on Facebook. It was unnecessary from a client point of view I feel to respond in the way they did. They also stated they blocked me, because of my Google review being "of no value" which was only added after the poor interaction online. I'm not entirely sure why they are suggesting, or stating it was removed because of my Google review. I would never have taken the time to write the original Google review regarding my experience online, had it not been so poor already with them. You can see a similar form of responses from the business on all their lower scored reviews, they appear to attack the customers review, dismiss them, or are just outwardly rude for no reason. I hope people strongly consider this interaction I had when deciding to visit this business, or support them online. Especially if you are new to the city, or on vacation. I feel the business could have been more open to responding online to their original post in a positive way and not immediately blocking me and coming across as so condescending.
