- Ukie57Rochester, NY162 contributionsPeggy’s Cove was an excursion from our cruise ship. Though our excursion was a bus drive from the cruise port, it was well worth the trip. The natural beauty of this cove grabbed our breaths away the minute the bus pulled off the highway. The rocks to be able to climb to get close to the lighthouse and to get various views of the shoreline were perfect. Being on a bus was a bit difficult to quickly grab something to eat and hit the gift shops. I stumbled upon Aberdeen, and I’m so happy I did! Jon, the tour guide, is great! He’s very responsive when planning, and he is a lot of fun during the tour. Everyone raved about the thought that went into where he decided to take us, and our trip wouldn’t have been the same without Jon. Tour was at our pace so we got to determine how much time we spent at each stop. So much better than the cruise ship excursions on a bus with a load of people and the price was so reasonable for our group of 4 adults. We learned about the history of Peggy’s cove & some of the life stories of the Titanic victims. A local gentleman was playing the bagpipes at the cove, which was beautiful. Halifax was one of our cruise ports so we appreciated the tour sticking to schedule. We still had time to visit downtown Halifax and the Maritime musuem afterwards. The smaller tour group was much more enjoyable than the larger bus cruise excursions. The crew (Cayliegh, Molly and Avery) were friendly and chatty answering any questions we had about the wine, sailing and adding in fun facts about Halifax. We made lots of great new friends on the tour and had the most beautiful sunset to enjoy.
