What travellers are saying
- DavigetaSaint Louis, MO1,049 contributionsThis is a centrally located, peaceful and beautiful oasis in Halifax. The gardens are beautiful and there is a great deal of organization and symmetry to the displays. There is a small cafe on site, and we had a Nanaimo bar there (decent but not amazing).Written September 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - backpacker31Boynton Beach, FL5,471 contributionsAlthough close to downtown Halifax, PPP feels a world away. I enjoy walking the various trails through the park while learning about the local history. It’s amazing to see so many intact and wonderfully preserved structures, each one with informative descriptions. Lots of places to stop and rest (benches are plentiful). The views overlooking the water are stunning. Plenty of parking (upper and lower parking lots), or if you’re looking for a longer walk, the park is accessible from downtown via either a path that runs along the harbour front, past the cruise/shipping terminals or via the suburban South End neighborhood.Written September 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tricia B9 contributionsNo need to own your own skates! Just have a picture ID and you can borrow a pair for free! So much fun! Don't worry if you don't know how to skate, if you can stand you can skate using a skating aid.Written February 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ExpatAgainandAgainHalifax, Canada465 contributionsThis is a great place to visit. We paddled over and had a great day of exploring, Geocaching, and hiking. I will go again. Not too busy as it's not easy to get to. You just need to plan your day. (However, some websites promote camping on the island. This is now prohibited. Too bad the websites aren't up to date.) Facilites (pit toilets), a great wharf, trails are easy on foot, views are incredible. History everywhere!Written June 22, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tricia B9 contributionsClose to but not downtown, The Dingle is an easy hiking trail with a beautiful marshland "The Frog Pond" and a lot of rolling hills and wooded areas.Written February 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FaithfultravelerHalifax, Canada1,159 contributionsThis park is great for easy hikes on marked trails, and off the beaten trails too especially down by the ravine. Ducks galore at Julie's heart-shaped pond, among other historical aspects.Written November 15, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robert8888LeeLondon, UK236 contributionsWe spent 2 hours hear strolling in the park and relaxing on one of the benches, watching the world go by....taking pictures of my family with the beautiful range of flowers throughout the park.As we are from the UK,it reminds me of Regents Park in London.Written April 13, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andrew15 contributionsWonderful Sunday walk with my girlfriend and dog. The dog swam a little bit. The area was nice but the trails were rough. Good to slowly walk around on and sit near the water.Written April 25, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Art HDartmouth, Canada880 contributionsI looked down on Seaview Park every time I crossed the bridge, but have never visited it. The park itself isn't much with a few short waling trails, but its location is beautiful providing views of the bridge soaring above and Bedford Basin alongside. I'm happy I finally made it for a visit.Written May 8, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- newf1946Halifax, Canada69 contributionsIt can be done in a day by bike but needs to be done in several stretches if walking. You can get on this trail at many sections along the Highway 3. You pass many lakeshores, river sections, lots of wildlife especially beavers, ducks, geese, occasional loon, deer, rabbits, partridges occasionally coyote. You pass "Gerry Lawrence" provincial picnic park. As you get near St. Margarets Bay section you pass a small shopping centre with the basic needs and also several restaurants right on the trail. Cavicces has a nice patio for eating and a converted train station also provides lunches.Written June 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
