One of the entrances is only a couple of blocks from the Chateau Bedford where we were staying. For this rural girl it was very nice to be able to enjoy a walk in the woods in the middle of the city.
I would recommend taking a picture of the trail map before you start out so you don't get turned around on the trails. I actually took a screen capture on Google Maps because it had the trail names. The trail signs in the park just had colours to represent each trail. I referred to my photo several times.
The trail was well used on a sunny summer day. This is a difficult to very difficult level unmanaged area to enjoy nature and hiking up and down hills with views of the lake. Everything from the helicopter flight to lunch to the time spent on the island was superb. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone.
