- melHamilton, Canada1 contributionMy experience here has been amazing for my intro month. The instructors are super friendly and motivating. They have a lot of classes at different times during the day so it’s easy to fit into my schedule. - Janice JHamilton, Canada32 contributionsI found out about the Healing Salt Cave from my naturopath, Dr. Lara Armstrong. I have been experiencing some respiratory issues from a lingering cold virus and looking for relief. When you call for an appointment, you may be directed to voice mail. Patience is required for a callback.
My appointment was on the same day, Thursday afternoon. I was advised to come 15 minutes before my appointment to complete a medical form and for a tour of the facility. When entering you are asked to remove street shoes and put on white cloth booties over your socks. I had read the other TripAdvisor reviews so knew to wear comfortable clothing (e.g. leggings, mock turtleneck, sweater, and socks) for the salt cave as it is quite cool. The attendant will give you a velour blanket to cover yourself, and you will be thankful for it. At first, I didn't feel the cold, but as the time in the cave progressed I was glad that I was bundled up. Soft lighting, spa music, and the water dripping down to maintain the humidity level were heard. I'm sure others would be able to fall asleep to the sounds, but I couldn't. (Hint: be sure to use the rest room before entering the cave). I brought my water bottle which helped with thirst.
There are no lockers for personal belongings, so I had to bring my purse into the cave.
The cave is actually a room set up with salt on the floor (slightly difficult to walk on), ceiling, and around the walls. Crystal salt fixtures (also sold in the reception room) were placed around the room, along with some lounge chairs. I was not claustrophobic at all, and I was in the cave room by myself.
By the end of the session, I did find that I could breathe deeper. I would return for a follow-up session and to try a massage. Daily we breathe in so much air pollution that a chance to rejuvenate the lungs is a welcome health respite. I do have a lingering salt taste in my mouth as the only drawback.Written March 30, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jenny CAncaster, Canada93 contributionsI have been a repeat occasional customer for years. Always enjoyed their services. Husband has purchased massage package for my birthday many a time. Due to Covid lock down, my gift card for Jingle Bell Rock massage expired. I called to see if I could still use it. Was told no after 12 months it expires regardless of Covid.
Very disappointed at their policy due to Covid lock downs. Sadly, will not be going back.Written May 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Booked an appointment, and received a reminder call - which is great, as sometimes these things can slip your mind. Arrived and was greeted by the owner, Virginia who immediately put me at ease with her easy going manner. Chrystal was the RMT, and have to say she provided a truly awesome massage. It was so good, I booked another one, and have now been there a total of three times. Chrystal asks about the areas needing treatment, and delivers a great massage with the right amount of pressure. The environment itself is very clean and relaxing. I highly recommend THE INNER YOU to anyone looking for a great massage, by a great RMT.Written April 7, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DuchessDubai, United Arab Emirates39 contributionsI purchased a 1 month unlimited yoga classes. It’s my first time ever doing yoga. I was greeted by Natalie who made me feel welcome & explained everything thoroughly. She introduced me to the classes offered & the facilities. She encouraged me to try various classes and introduced me to some of the instructors as well. I have tried bikram inspired yoga which I really like, as it feels like a workout. And various other gentle & beginner classes. A couple of my favorites are sweat, relax and restore & gentle hatha.
Some instructors that I have enjoyed taking their classes are: Linda & Kelly.
They also have an app, which is great, I can check the timings & classes offered. And they offer tea. They also have 2 locations, Hamilton & waterdown.Written August 19, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andie CToronto, Canada3 contributionsHad my first salt Cave Room experience and within minutes of starting the session felt my lungs getting lighter and functioning better and my breathing getting better and I could breathe deeper and clearer than I have in 6 months. By the end of the session I’d felt better than I have the last 6 months after suffering with long Covid symptoms that have affected the use of my lungs and left me with low blood pressure and low O2 levels and severe lung scarring. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and put you at ease and make sure that you have an incredible experience. Definitely coming back for more sessions. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to feel better and rejuvenate themselves.Written February 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
