What travellers are saying
- shinysycamoreToronto, Canada110 contributionsClean park, close to Toronto. Sites seem a bit small and with average privacy (we could see and hear 2 out of 3 neighbours). Online it said our site had "good" privacy but it didn't seem very private at all. Stayed in the dogwood & pines section which seems to have more trees and more of a forest feel than some of the other areas of the park. However, this section is NOT radio free and we had families with LOTS of children singing and playing music until midnight. If you are looking for a quieter camping experience perhaps look at the radio free sections. The lake seemed clean and the trails around the park are easy to walk. The bathrooms were clean and close to our site. Overall I would recommend this park for families with children as there are lots of activities for them to do. We will try to camp here again perhaps in the fall when it isn't in the peak of summer.Written July 12, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Iolanda L3 contributionsHaven't been here for many years, looks like a lot of improvements and things for people to do. - Hanna L.2 contributionsMany years ago, it was a clean, cozy lake and surroundings, with many tables and a polite crew. Now everything is exactly the opposite, tables have disappeared, goose poop is everywhere, and rude service.
However, the worst thing is the condition and quality of the water. Our last visit was Saturday, June 25, 2022. As soon as I started swimming, I felt itching all over my body. Having got out on the shore, I began to itch desperately, and only an antihistamine pill helped relieve this itch a little. When I woke up the next day, I was horrified to see my whole body covered with pimples. I had to see a doctor who prescribed antihistamines. Today is the fourth day, and the skin condition is not improving; at least the itching has stopped. I strongly recommend not going to this place unless you want to repeat my sad story. My husband and all of our friends also have the same skin rashes.Written July 13, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
