This is a hidden gem in Hamilton, Ontario. It is a relatively small operation but a private tour takes about 2 hours. Erica, our guide, was exceptionally knowledgeable about generous with the information she provided. She did not rush us and opened as many of the exhibits as was possible allowing us to handle the reptiles, tortoises, etc. The opportunity to experience these animals was a real treat ... some of us having to challenge our fears to handle and touch things like snakes. They really aren't slimy at all!! We had the opportunity to pet and play with a hedge hog but the piece de resistance was Iris, the 6 month old, two toed sloth. They brought her out with her blanket and each of us (we were a group of 4 adults) had the opportunity to hold, feed and pet her. She was adorable as you can see from the photos.

All of the staff are knowledgeable and engage authentically with visitors. We learned a great deal about the creatures that some of us didn't know .

We highly recommend this little gem. It would be fun for child and, it is possible to book a birthday party there. They also cater to schools and will bring some of the animals to visit the classroom.

One suggestion, take a bottle of water with you. It is quite hot and humid. It feels hotter and more humid the longer you're there. We were all perspiring and in need of water which isn't available there. Do yourself a favour and take a bottle each with you.

They have a second location in Ottawa which we've not seen but if it's half as good as Hamilton, it will be more than worth it.

A must-travel for families with Kids.
Magnificient Lions and other animals. Animal shows were also good. Staffs were amazing
My advice to families will be take the bus tour once so that they can get the information on the place and animals. Then you can drive with your car as many times as you want. Well maintained place.
It has multiple play areas for kids. Food options were also decent

Beautiful waterfalls. Short walk from the parking lot to the falls. $11 for parking all day. Lots of parking space when we got there. Many reviews here mentioned required reservation. We didn't have a reservation. We went on Saturday. No one was policing around and didn't see a sign about limited parking time. We stayed there for about 2-3 hours. Tiffany falls is also in the same area just several meters away. We walked to Tiffany via Bruce Trails, which is across from Sherman falls entrance. It's a bit hard to see the narrow entrance to Bruce trail. There's an intersection by the Sherman falls entrance. Look straight across towards the wooded/forestry area and you'll see a narrow entrance to Bruce trail. It's a super beautiful trail. It makes the journey to Tiffany Falls more rewarding. Bruce Trail is about 1.5 km walk. There's another 3rd falls nearby called Canterbury Falls but we couldn't find it. Maybe you can find it. Get a map by the parking lot.

quietly nestled into a small part of Churchill Park lies the Friends of the Aviary in Hamilton. although not a huge facility the first thing I noticed is how dedicated the staff is to their birds. It doesn't take long to cover the whole place so we took our time and tried to have a chat with many of the lovely birds with some responding. you see pictures of these animals but rarely come this close so the colours were very impressive. I will be back but next time in the summer so we can get a better look at the surrounding grounds. highly recommended.

Its funny how even after living in the same city for over 40 years you can still find new places to explore. I have hiked in that area many many times but never wandered over to the Escarpment Rail Trail. I always knew it was there I just didnt know where it went or how long it would take to walk it.But after some Google Mapping I knew exactly where it went. My wife and I parked off Mohawk Rd there is a free parking lot with plenty of parking. The trail runs right by it. To hike the trail from the parking lot to the Claremount Access takes approximately one hour and 15 minutes by foot. So if your looking for a good 2.5 hrs hike this is the place. There is plenty of shade with lots of tree coverage and if your into running up and down stairs you will walk by two different sets of metal stairs to get your cardio up and running. Plenty of people either walk, run, or ride their bikes up and down this trail. Its a nice gentle slope so you dont feel exhausted walking back up towards your car. Your feet might hurt but your legs should be fine! My wife calculates her steps on her fitbit so for those looking for a huge return on getting your steps that day this walk usually gives her around 18,000 steps. It truly is a beautiful place to go for a walk. One of those hidden gems in the city of Hamilton to explore.

This new park is located just minutes away from one of the busiest streets on Hamilton mountain. The large park was set aside by the city to provide a multi use recreational area in the neighbourhood. It contains two playground areas for kids, a splash pad, tennis courts, football field and soccer pitches. Several walking trails are found in the park, some paved, some not. There is a large pond that is the central feature of the park that has become inhabited by some ducks and geese. There is a change house and washrooms and a fair bit of parking available off West 5th Street.

The only problem that have surfaced are complaints that some people are using motorized dirt bikes on the walking trails which poses a hazard to people who are just out walking. Other than this, it is a perfect park for all people.

It's one of the best farms around this area. The entrance prices are fairly decent in compare to other places, apples prices are a bit on expensive side in compare to supermarkets - but quality is good. And there is some stuff to do with kids like a tractor ride, a trail or a sandbox filled with corn.

This place is great if you're able to go. Update though: During COVID the parking is closed and no place close by to park legally. There were too many people using parking lot as place to park to go to Websters Falls even though it is noted to be closed online. Annoying that people ruin this and got this placed closed because they were sneaking into the nearby falls.

This park has a nice circular trail for walking or jogging, that also leads down into Rushdale park that consists of a playground and basketball court. It is like having two parks in one almost. TB McQueston also has a soccer field, playground and parking lot. Overall, I enjoy this park.

Love the view, beautiful trail. Not suitable for strollers at all. This is not an easy trail, great for a good work out with many large drumlins. Once you get past the first ( hardest) large hill, it is so beautiful with many rivers and wildlife to see. The trail does need some work.

When else would the average Joe get to drive a Lamborghini? A Porsche?

Our hosts were professional, fun and very knowledgeable about all the vehicles and made sure we were all safe.

We were lucky to enjoy our adventure during the fall colours, an added bonus to an already amazing experience.

I visited this site alone and it's really good for a group or for a walk with your dog, the loop is 2.9 km and it takes around 1.5 hr for full exploration.

There is a parking lot and it's a 1 $ each hour and there is some spots for bicycle parking.
once you park over there, get out the Oak Knoll rd. and turn left and take another left so you can start your tour.
