- Kelly H.Madison, WI94 contributionsWe stopped by on the last day of our 2 week road trip to enjoy a relaxing walk and view of the port. Parking right next to the port is free and easy. The walk along the waterfront is very accessible, with a wide path and plenty of benches to rest on. There’s a restaurant right at the port called Snug Harbour, but we weren’t around long enough to stop in for lunch. Our only complaint is that we experienced some very aggressive driving in downtown Mississauga, which was pretty jarring for us as tourists. So unfortunately, we ended up heading out as the day was no longer feeling relaxed after that.Written May 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Oscar L1 contributionA great park with a lot of wildlife like rabbits and even some coyotes! - Sharon HRochester, NY, United States495 contributionsThis lovely little Japanese garden is an oasis in the middle of the city. One can walk inside the gate and shut out the hustle and bustle of the city. There are lovely ponds with waterfowl. There was even a blue heron there the day we visited. I would recommend this to others.Written September 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SuzyCanada132 contributionsPerfect for beginner to do Kayak or SUP as some area has no boats coming in, no big waves, and very shallow .
As you get advanced, you can go to the lake as well.
There are Salsa dance lessons there as well, for donation basis. The instructor was very energetic and everyone was having great time.Written July 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Park was clean, plenty of parking (weekday afternoon), the only problem is that both sets of washrooms were closed. Come on City of Mississauga, we should be encouraging people to spend time outside year-round, but without toilets it really limits how long you can stay / whether you can drink a coffee / whether you can bring kids.Written November 10, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anna LNiagara Falls, Canada74 contributionsIt's cool and the water looks great, but I wouldn't call this a fantastic to-die-for experience. Lots of people can be found here roasting their meals. In a certain area (under a bridge with lots of graffiti art), you can also find amazing rocks for rock tossing.
However, once you get used to the ordinary river view it does get boring.Written June 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A bubbling river, gentle trails, lush wooded areas all the more made magnificent by amazing Fall colours, birds chirping, deer sightings sometimes.
This has always been a favourite park of mine here in Mississauga.Written November 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There's plenty of benches near the library where we parked for free. It's a pond really, but the geese and other birds make for a nice slice of nature in otherwise acres of suburban sprawl. Lots of people strolling, talking, enjoying the circumference path and trees. All age groups and diversities of culture were present. A nice way to spend an hour.Written October 23, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Neomi DToronto, Canada73 contributionsA great place to walk in natural surroundings and enjoy Canada's seasonal beauty. Great for birdwatchers too, esp. at dusk..and if you're lucky you could see deer, n=brown fox or tortoise.Written December 1, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NancyMississauga, Canada4 contributionsI live not far from these gardens (as well as all the other parks along the Lake). Every time I visit this beautiful park, I see something new and wonderful. This is an amazing place, run by volunteers who work hard to keep the gardens beautiful. It's so calm, peaceful and relaxing. And it's one park where you can count on dog-walkers to keep their pets on the leash. Watch out for bikers, though.Written October 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AnLil934 contributionsThis is actually a pretty quiet but accessible parkland close to the highway, and families like it. It’s not touristy and is where smaller events are held. The waterfront trail is very smooth (for skateboarders too), and the pond and marina had fowl/ducks and water lilies in bloom. The walk of fame stars featured celebrities like Cara or Talent; Colonel Sanders (KFC) lived in Mississauga with William Graham Bell across the line both here in Ontario. Snug Harbour pub has a good patio to sit and enjoy drinks, open at night, and the nearest Starbucks at the marina has washrooms and seemed dog-friendly. That’s if you can’t find the public washroom, which is facing Snug Harbour at the dock, closer to the road from the parking lot. There were surprisingly few bugs, maybe because it’s not marshland like Rattray-Jack Darling Park, which has a boardwalk—about double the size or distance (8 km). The walk around Saddington from Port Credit Marina is less than 5 km if you park for free at the very end of Stavebank Road, which also has separate marina and $2 inn parking (payable by visa at the east lot entrance) on weekends. It’s worth the drive to catch the sunset and have a picnic/coffee. (Just don’t take the Hurontario West exit back home due to construction.) Try getting away from the bustle and drinking in a little nature!Written July 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jay Son56 contributionsTLDR: Nice Park, no on-site washrooms, lots of fun events in the summer.
This is such a nice area. The park has lots of benches and a bandstand / gazebo so you can get shade on sunny days. This is definitely a warm weather spot. It is close to the lake and a flowing body of water. Quite often you can see birds out on the water or people using kayaks/paddleboards.
The park is big and usually there is lots of open space to have a picnic or play a sport. It is also a good spot to just soak up some sun in peace.
The one downside is that there are no washrooms on site (although most parks don't have them). I mention this because this is sort of a big public attraction and I think it should have one. I have seen other smaller Mississauga parks that have washrooms.
If you need a washroom, during business hours. You can try the library on Lakeshore next to the parking lot or the arena at the other end where there is a curved sloping driveway.
This park hosts tons of summer events and festivals too, typically on weekends. That was what brought me to this park for the first time. There is always something fun to do here.Written September 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
