The Carillon Bell Tower is part of the bridge plaza on the Canadian side. The Carillon Bell Tower was completed in 1947 and is approximately 165 feet high. There are 55 bells that have a total weight of 43 tons. At one time, there was a carilloneur who played the carillon manually, but since 2001 and renovations at the carillon, the bells are now automated and play three times a day - every day. The Carillon is played daily from at: 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.; 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.; and 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Carillon can be seen in the movie, "Niagara" with Joseph Cotton and Marilyn Monroe in 1952.Written May 29, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robby G CToronto, Canada81,665 contributionsWhen I saw the Zimmerman Fountain Pond, I was immediately attracted to it. After all it is an attractive fountain. A walkway around the pond is perfect to enjoy it from different perspectives.
Now, why is this fountain named this way? Very simple. It was a remnant of Samuel Zimmerman estate. He came from Pennsylvania and made a fortune with the Second Welland Canal.
I liked all the flowers around here. Even in the pond there are flowers: water lilies and they are quite beautiful as well! The fountain itself was the major attraction!
Many people came by and enjoyed this pond. I did too!Written December 1, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was built in 1906 to supply electricity to Toronto. It was Canadian-owned. The building has federal heritage designation. It has not been operational for nearly 50 years but the grande dame structure is aging well, an
impressive Beaux-Arts' application to industrial use. Its limestone Ionic columns still amaze. If I was half a cook I would apply for a licence to run a restaurant here, a truly stunning setting near the Niagara River. It is a pity it is under used.Written May 26, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
