The Hare might just be the best kept secret in the area!!! Unlike some other wineries, they are not pompous nor pretentious. The place is amazingly prepared to give the rustic, wine producing ambiance while still providing the sense of chic that you are looking for. Vlad was just so amazing at explaining everything from the winery to the different wines they offer and their pairings. Their charcuterie boards are generous and delicious, perfectly selected to combine with each wine. Simply a delightful experience!!! A real value for your money and a MUST!

Charming boutique winery in NOTL. The winery has a Country farmstyle vibe. Did a wine tasting, and the staff member we interacted with was very good, knowledgeable and honest. Walked out with a few bottles and enjoyed the experience. Recommended. Did not get a chance to eat in the restaurant, but the online reviews are good for the food, so will go back and do that one day.

We discovered this winery via a winemakers pass and so glad we did. We joined their wine club on our second visit. Since joining we have been back numerous times. The wonderful staff sure make everyone feel welcome and treat us like family. Wines are excellent and still have not found one we did not like. We are normally red wine drinkers but have discovered just how good the whites can be. The Chacutery boards and brecheta are the best in all of Niagara in our opinion.

We had been to this winery in the summer but went today for the Ice Wine festival. Snowing but parking lot and walkways were clean. Delicious beef slider!! Best ice wine we had today out of the four we went to. Customer service was great. Canadian family owned winery 🇨🇦 Will definitely be back.

I gave a 4* rating because of our restaurant experience. We had wanted to taste at Strewn for some time as we like some of their wines but this was our first opportunity. We had booked lunch at the restaurant which was very good. Staff were busy but we felt well looked after and enjoyed our meals. We paid for our tasting ( twice what I’ve paid inn the past but it was refunded with purchase) and were surprised to find that it was a non refundable charge, despite purchasing several bottles of wine. The tasting experience with Sherri-Lynn was disorganized and I felt lacked background knowledge. Every wine was “one of their best selling wines”but with little else to distinguish the particular varietal. She kept track of our comments and when we went to shop for wine we were reminded of the comments that we made so as to encourage us to purchase. We did purchase at least 6 bottles of wine, 2 of which were the American Oak Chardonnay. Sherri-Lynn insisted on packing up the bottles for us. When we returned home we discovered that she had packed the Canadian Oaked Chard…. Emails to both Customer Service and to the Admin resulted in no response. Not impressed. By the way: We tasted at Tawse and 13th St the following day for no charge at all. Highly recommend both for both the wine and the tasting experience.

What a great spot to get away from the general touristyness of the area! Very down-to-earth; NOT the snootiness (or the prices) of Gretzky's. Disappointed that they didn't offer their own beers; but a good selection was available. Food hit the spot.

Dropped in for a wine tasting and was amazed by all the non-standard equipment, they are a small winery so you won’t see their wines in the LCBO. The wines we tasted were very good and would like to go back once their expansion is done with the new sitting area and restaurant.

We have visited this winery twice and each time we have been impressed with the experience. The team is knowledgeable and happy to provide information on the product and their sustainable organic practices. The wines are lovely and worth experiencing.

Tucked away in the corner of the village of Queenston is a small but very interesting museum. The purpose of the museum is two-fold: a history of William Lyon Mackenzie, who published his anti-establishment newspaper here for a short time before moving to Toronto (and getting into lots of trouble), and the history of printing press. Both are dealt with well. The history of the printing press, with vintage machines, is demonstrated up to the modern age. The tour guide gives a detailed account of how they worked, and the changes in technology that allowed going from 200 copies to 200,000 copies or more. It gives you an appreciation on how hard it was to produce something we take for granted. If you're into historical museums, this won't disappoint.

We have been here before as far back as when it was Stonechurch. The ciders are very good and we were lucky for a nice sunny day to have our tasting outdoors. Nice and casual.

We had been to this winery in the past and really enjoyed their Riesling. We came back and had a wonderful tasting outside with Ihor. He was interesting, knowledgeable and really took his time explaining everything we were tasting. Everyone is friendly here and the wines are really outstanding. It’s a smaller winery and it felt very much like a personalized experience that sometimes gets lost with the other giant mega wineries. Definitely add this one to your list.

Great little museum, $5 entry fee. NOTL has a fascinating history and I thoroughly recommend you do their walking tour. It's only $10 and you learn so much fascinating history about NOTL and the surrounding area. Do the tour first (they meet in the park at the bandstand) and your walk down the Main Street after will mean so much more because you'll know the stories behind so many of the buildings.

My sister noticed the museum as we drove by and had to stop. In this case it was a good call. $10 admission. A three-generational art exhibit on display, curated by the Ottawa Art Gallery, and beautifully done. There is is also an interesting library in the lower level and a nice view of the river from the backyard. The staff was enthusiastic and friendly. We enjoyed our time there.
