My family went on a Christmas Tour of the Parkwood Nation Historic site. Young and old all throughly enjoyed the experience. The young lady that conducted the tour was extremely knowledgeable. We are so fortunate to have this “gem” in the middle of Oshawa. We highly recommend this site and the gift shop was full of last minute unique gift shopping.

probably the only museum shows i have been to that match or exceed Tank Fest at Bovington UK. Lots of armor and very informative. Only missed Aquino once in last 6 years.

Tired of looking at the same old scenery? Why not check out the gallery? Beauty IS in the eyes of the beholder, and here is the place your eyes will appreciate beholding. A great way to start conversations while appreciating fine artist originals and upcoming new art styles. Sculpture, colour, and a true feast for the eyes! Feeling peckish? Head upstairs to the fine dining experience upstairs. The only restaurant that allows you to buy half a decadent cake slice with your coffee. If you still feel like educating further, the library is right across the parking lot. REAL BOOKS and a REAL LIVE EXPERIENCE for all the bookworms!

When that water resort in Cuba is out of your reach...pack up yourself and enjoy the natural waterline Lake Ontario provides. Relax here with your family ANY time of the year. The seasons and scenery change, but the lake is always so beautiful and calming. Take the negativity out of these uncertain times to go admire something steadfast and permanently a pat of Durham. Picnic, and stroll to your hearts contentment on the many trails Oshawa has to discover at its waterfront. I have seen everything at the lakefront..from giant across the sea ships in port, to Canada Day every year. PLEASING for your entire family!

After breakfast at The White Apron, we made our way to Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens for a short visit. Only 1 car was in the free parking lot at 8:55AM and we parked beside it as it was in the coveted shaded area (right side). This lovely park has mature shady trees, a paved bike path, meandering walkways, park benches, picnic tables, a dome roof metal gazebo and different feature gardens like a waterfall garden and a peony garden (already past blooming season; best seen in June). The Oshawa Creek runs through it so visitors have to walk/cycle over the picturesque Rotary bridge to get to the other side. There is no connecting bridge on the north side of the park so one has to retrace one's steps back to the Rotary bridge to return to the parking lot. No washrooms on site. We only stayed here for 20 mins but in that short time we agreed we found a gem.

Beautiful, peaceful place to spend an afternoon. We walked around the edge of the bay.(It was frozen solid!) There were swans out in the bay.

Me and my daughter love coming here.
Perfect place if you don't want to drive to the city for the bigger zoo.
My daughter who is 3 loves coming here to feed the goats and sheep's. Also love this place since is on the smaller scale,I can leave my daughter run around and explore without having to worry.

Great place to visit, close to the lake, great park, lots of differerent things to do and see. If into local hostory at all a must visit. Nice variety from period exhibits, to current events, and exhibits about curent world experiences. Lots of options for hands on, and encourage visitors to give thier own experiences.

We stopped here a month or so after they opened and saw the brand-new brewery. Very friendly people, and all the beers in our flight were good. A lot of different packaged and snack options. It's difficult to see if you are coming south from downtown Oshawa.

We've gone 2 years in a row and it's a welcome change of scenery for the kids.

The pancake breakfast is always consistent and they churn out food very fast with the help of their student helpers.

The tour down into the woods plus the horse + carriage ride (which you have to pay for) is always fun for the kids.

    Dress warm though!

Every seat in the house seemed like a good seat. Set design was top notch. There was live musical band. Performance was well done. Really a hidden gem in Oshawa. Free parking.
