- MidwestKathMDetroit, MI1,096 contributionsExploring the Group of Seven brought us to the Alix Art Gallery on an August afternoon. The summer exhibition Homage features the work of Toronto-based artist Jon Sasaki. His oversize photographs of microbial landscapes that grew from bacteria cultures taken from the Group of Seven artists' palettes at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. This exhibition was teamed with a selection of the Alix's Group of Seven holdings in a gallery exhibit titled Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven. Both were interesting and worth the drive to see! We also enjoyed the Lambton through the Lens photographs taken by local teens.
The building housing the Alix is quite interesting! The facade dates back to the 1890s as the Thom Building, home to a photography business. In 2012, the original building was replaced with a new modern structure to accommodate the art gallery.Written November 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BRUCE MOttawa, Canada51 contributionsMy wife and I were in Sarnia, looking for a nice meal. We did a Google search and this micro brewery popped up. We both had the lobster roll. Hands down the nicest , most tasty lobster roll we have ever had. A little pricy 22$ ( not what it says on the web site 19$) but holy mackerel it was fresh and so good. I had the Cream ale, not very creamy but tasty. My wife had the Brut IPA - Zane Lost His Avocado Bag beer. She raved about the fruity taste. The staff were helpful and funny. We will go again.Written April 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
