- Stephen SNiagara-on-the-Lake, Canada50 contributionsJust finished the Museum's inaugural bike tour of the Welland Canal and the remains of the NS&T railway bed, which is now a lovely paved path through North St Catharines. Our Guide Shaun was very knowledgable and did an excellent job of explaining the historical significance of many things along the route. The ride was about 18km and it was conducted at a good but not too fast pace for occasional riders. Well worth signing up for one of these rides. Special thanks to Chloe for helping out as well.Written July 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Joseph T2 contributionsSadly, they do not allow any petting of the animals. They also do not allow feeding of the animals (they do not sell animal feed except for the ducks)Written August 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - abmilwMilwaukee, WI698 contributionslakeside park - so many memories:
willows in the breeze, drinking by lighthouse, smoking on the pier, shining stars on summer nights and barefoot freedom. Worth a stop just to walk and see it. Glad we made the short drive from QEW to see this.Written October 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The falls are nice for sure but after I had to climb up the hill to get back out and that was dangerous also due to the mud, leaves and loose rocks. Honestly pretty dangerous to go off trail there. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were people that get trapped down there or get hurt descending or ascending that hill.Written December 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Scott CSt. Catharines, Canada745 contributionsGreat spot, nice sized beach and fairly clean. Nice view at sunset, hence the name. Very different than the beach in Port Dalhousie, being very low key, without the restaurants, bars and other touristy attractions. It is nice being next to the canal entrance/exit, if you're into watching for ships. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking to relax in a fairly low key environment.Written November 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sharon HRochester, NY, United States499 contributionsThis mill was built in 1872 and is one of the few mills in Ontario that houses all its original equipment and still operates its millstones using waterpower. Depew Falls is right behind the mill. There is also a restored mill keeper’s homestead, also. This is well worth visiting, and admission is by donation.Written September 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KiwiFan17Canada244 contributionsLovely spot to take a walk with a lighthouse at the end of the pier, freshwater salmon and locals fishing, migratory birds and a spectacular view of the sunset to the west. Really enjoyed the Lakeside Beach a few kilometers to the west of the lighthouse locations.Written November 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ashley S1 contributionThis is my favourite winery in the Niagara region! The estate is beautiful, and the wines are delightful. I highly recommend the Baco Noir and their icewine. I always get the wine sampler when I visit, and enjoy their tasty fresh popcorn on their comfortable patio.
Lastly, the staff are wonderful. The ladies at the front are incredibly knowledgable, kind, and hospitable. I always feel welcome whenever I visit, and have learned a lot about wine from them. Thank you for providing a wonderful experience whenever I bring friends to the Niagara region.Written October 2, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The beef slider was delicious and went very well with the wine. Hernder is a beautiful winery with a covered bridge.Written November 24, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
