Learned so much on our mine tour! Our guide Keira was super; knowledgeable, enthusiastic, well spoken and an excellent ambassador for the Museum.

I’ve been to Onaping Falls a few times now. It’s absolutely stunning in all seasons. I appreciate that it’s one of the easier “hikes” in the area. The graffiti on the rocks is definitely a downside, it’s deeply disappointing that people choose to deface a gorgeous natural landscape like that.

Had a nice evening walk along the boardwalk. Would recommend. It was a nice warm July night, bugs weren’t bad if you kept walking and it was well lit.

We did the Point Trails Loop 1 hike. It was quite pleasant with nice views of the lake. Good views vs the effort of the hike. We had planned to also do Loop 2 but it was a hot enough day that we decided that we had likely seen the best of the views on Loop 1 already so we headed for lunch instead.

Stopped in here today, just to kill a couple hours, really enjoyed ourselves. Honestly, they have a bit of everything for all ages too. The train museum of course, mix of some indoor displays and some outdoor locomotives and rolling stock. Plus, a lot of railroad memorabilia and history from this part of Ontario. They also had a bunch of artifacts from logging and mining, including some fairly unique railroad items. Also an outdoor children’s train themed large play area and some attractive horticultural gardens. Then, down the road, included with your ticket, is the old firehall with historic displays, upstairs some cultural and sports memorabilia from the area and the basement had some beautiful operating model railroads. So, some of everything for everyone.

We enjoyed a couple of hours browsing and being advised by the knowledgeable staff. I particularly wanted crime / mystery by a local author and left with a Giles Blunt novel. My son also had great advice and discovered a few new authors, but the proof of the quality of the service only became apparent after we left.

A few hours later we got a call from the reception in our hotel asking if we had been to Bay Used Books. Apparently I had bought the third book in the Giles Blunt series, and they called around several hotels on the South Side looking for a Scottish family to let me know that they had the first book in the series and I could swap if I wanted. Unbelievable, but true.

Beautiful park, gorgeous long sandy beach with nice clear water, nice boat launch and great dog beach where everyone was quite respectful of the leash rule or had well behaved pups with good recall. Our site (34) was well situated between toilets and water access and across from the trail BUT our only complaint that unfortunately ruined our weekend this the trains going by at what seemed like every half hour all night and blowing the horn VERY close by.

Such a beautiful place to connect with your faith. Many people just use this space to take pictures.
It’s definitely a great place with pillars & foundation

We, a family of 4 from Ottawa, had dinner here on Saturday, August 1, 2020. Very personable service and good quality food. In fact, the onion rings were the best we have ever tasted! We were left wondering why the tables were not all full!

We recently attended the viewing of Johnny Cash. This is agreat date night activity. We went for dinner and went to the theatre. They have a comfortable lounge to have a cocktail on arrival and during intermission. The staff are courteous and very helpful.
