What travellers are saying
- JB3Auckland Central, New Zealand211 contributionsThis monument of Terry Fox was located in a beautiful setting overlooking the lake. A great tribute to a great man. Definitely worth stopping to see.Written April 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Eva7 contributionsThe website could be improved.
It refers to tours, but did not say whether you needed to be part of a tour or whether the tour was optional (explore on your own).
We sent an email to the provided email address to inquire about it, but the staff didn't see it.
When we showed up at 2:05, the supervisor, Maria, wanted to turn us away, saying that the tour had left. It had left 5 minutes ago. We were from out of town. She had no sympathy. It was only when we pointed out that we had sent an email (and she was able to retrieve it from her junk folder -- apparently all the emails go there) that she finally relented and grudgingly led the way for us to catch up with the others.
So customer service could be improved.
The tour guides themselves were amazing. Our tour guide happened to be Leslie -- she was terrific, going out of her way to make the experience informative and fun.Written May 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Heather KPenetanguishene, Canada88 contributionsWhat a great little find!! I read the reviews from other travellers and we were not disappointed when we descended upon this Amethyst Mine. Linden was quietly working away and quickly instructed us on how to walk around the open mine and fill our little bucket with Amethysts. It was a fun afternoon and and we were able to bring home some gems as little tokens from our trip to Thunder Bay. A MUST DO!!!Written October 11, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Shawna.mrs HSaskatoon41 contributionsWe went to see the view of Thunderbay It was a beautiful clear day so a truly beautiful view of the city and waterways. - mrpetsaverCanmore, Canada1,148 contributionsNice park to walk around and look at boats and the lake. There is no beach or real water access. We did discover a real beach about 20 minutes North along Lakeshore Drive called Wild Goose Park.Written August 28, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- TowelboyOttawaOttawa, Canada104 contributionsPossibly the best place to stop, reps and look out to the Sleeping Giant and the port. A very nice little park.Written July 4, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Edward WOttawa, Canada1,639 contributionsA small but comprehensive botanical garden. Good for any time of year with some variation in plants on display.Written March 22, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ancientmoodsThunder Bay, Canada746 contributionsGo in November and perhaps catch kite surfers. Go in February and walk on the ice on shore. In the spring watch migrating birds. In the fall forage for mushrooms.Written February 2, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ScottandJodiPortage, Manitoba239 contributionsNow this is a proper brewery and taproom! Good beer and not trendy, although still a little funky. They have an excellent selection of beers and are happy to offer a sample so you can choose. There was a pizza truck on site the evening we were there or you can bring your own food. We were chilly so sat indoors but there is a nice big outdoor space with lots of tables as well.Written October 8, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Heather KPenetanguishene, Canada88 contributionsIt was a bit rainy and dreary when we went but we still enjoyed the walk and we ended up at the Current River where these beautiful slate rocks allowed for us to walk on and have a fun photo opportunity. I would recommend going on this mini-adventure if you are new to the area. It was worth stretching our legs and taking in nature.Written October 31, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- French-girl-in-TOToronto, Canada119 contributionsShort and easy hike to the falls. Then you can walk on the rocks by the falls. Beautiful colors. Cool to do.Written October 4, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jim C35 contributionsThe High Falls hiking trail is well marked and maintained. Quite clean (except for a couple of full "doggy" bags). The trail is not challenging with no significant climbs. The falls lookout areas have nice seating. Small children, pets and adventurers need some supervision as there is access to some precarious lookouts. It would have be en nice to have the Ontario Travel building open for at least washrooms.Written May 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
