I'm not sure if the park really pays homage to the Irish people who came to Canada, but it is a nice little park to get some fantastic views of the Toronto Skyline. Not the best views, but for a short ride from Union Station, it's nice.

Some of the statues might be frightening looking to young children.

Great relaxing place with a nice view of the lake. Nice place to go for a walk. Lots of beautiful green grass anf a wonderful view of the lake Ontario and boats near the marina. There is a large grass are here and loads of shade if you wanted to have a picnic. The park provides for excellent views on the flights taking off west from Billy Bishop airport. Features an Inukshuk statue. It is a must visit, but be prepared for the crowds during weekends. There is ample parking right next to the park. It is right off the bike path, so it is a favorite haunt for bikers and runners. There are washrooms nearby as well.

In Queen's park just in front of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario is the Ontario Veterans' Memorial, its a marvellous granite wall image of battles over a long number of years and well worth the visit to see.

In the centre of Toronto is the wonderful Queen's park and just outside the Legislative Assembly of Ontario is a marvellous statue of Queen Victoria, which is well worth finding and taking in its majesty.

I recently had the pleasure to visit Canada and spent a day in Toronto. Walking around the city I stumbled upon the South African War Memorial. I found the inscription on the plaque interesting which read as follows” To the memory and in honour of the Canadians who died defending the Empire in the South African war – 1899 to 1902”
The comments below are in no way intended to disrespect the soldiers or their families who died in this conflict.
    1. South Africa as a country did not exist in 1899. It was made up of four geographic areas known as the Cape Colony (British control), Natal (British Control), Orange Free State (independent Republic) and the Zuid Afrikaans Republiek (independent Republic). These geographic areas became provinces when the Union of South Africa was established in 1910
    2. The Empire in this instance was the aggressor (not defender) though Cecil John Rhodes and his cohorts who incited a war to lay their greedy hands on the gold and diamond riches of these independent republics by invading them and claiming the mines.

Years have passed since I last visited Osgoode Hall and its Great Library, but a reception hosted by the Osgoode Society for Legal History took me there yesterday evening. The space is indeed very attractive, dominated by the chandeliers and the portraits of juridical worthies. Well worth a visit!
