The evening starts with a three course meal and after the meal the mystery begins with a murder. The actors are within the crowd and interact with the crowd as the mystery is solved. If you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary you can call ahead and be involved in the show. At the end of the show crowd can guess the murderer. More complex puzzles would make it BRILLIANT for competitive types like us but these were fun, varied and everyone was enjoying themselves! - Bryanna P2 contributionsI went to nuvo with my partner for the magic show and experienced absolutely terrible service, and had money stolen from me by my server. We pre ordered dinner, so that was already paid for. While there I ordered a drink that was $18.00, she then took it upon herself to round it up to $20.00 on my bill before gratuity and HST. She said “the drink is actually $20” when that wasn’t advertised anywhere. Plus the Gratuity was $3.60, HST $2.60, which brought my bill to a total of $26.20. She then took it upon herself to round my bill up to $27.00. That was the price I paid for my one beverage that was originally marked at $18.00 which I estimated to cost about $23.00. For every question I asked her she made up an answer. We asked for water over 5 times for our table and didn’t receive any until close to the end of the night. People were rude and disrespectful and it dampened an evening that was supposed to be eventful and special. - Inspire218922013231 contributionI attended the show with an out of town friend. Being unfamiliar with the series, I watched all episodes so I would be equipped to appreciate the humour of the actors.
We were escorted to our table at the very back of the room where five other patrons were already seated, just outside the kitchen door.
The acting was spot on to the series, very funny - they all did a fabulous job but, due to us being seated at the very end of the room, we could not see much. The actors came to our table a few times to say hello but were more involved with front and centre tables.
The soup was of unknown origin and luke warm, chicken breast was a steamed texture, somewhat watery rice, over-steamed vegetables of cauliflower and broccoli. The dessert tart had a soggy shell and was not very appealing but edible. After dinner, there was coffee being served at the front tables. When serving seemed to end, I asked to have coffee at our table, sadly being informed it was all gone. Appeared there was just enough coffee for half the tables of which many had already been vacated. That I found disappointing.
For the evening, I was just excited to see my friend, see a live show, did not have high expectations for the food from the beginning. In summary, I saw a wonderful show with fabulous acting and had a mediocre dinner. Expecting what I did, there were not any complaints from us but I am commenting on what would be wrong if I had higher expectations.
