What travellers are saying
- Carlo FToronto, Canada488 contributionsVery laid back clothing optional beach. Be respectful and you'll be fine. The newly opened beach further down from the original Hanlan's beach has become the new clothing optional spot. The older spot has more shade and better swimming than the newer beach, while the newer spot is more of a social gathering.Written August 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Vanessa PCalgary, Canada1,394 contributionsThis place is actually a corner lot of the sugar plant area in Toronto that was covered in sand, and it has sun shades and beach chairs. People go there to sunbathing. There is small splahwater for children.Written May 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - theloonygypsiesNew York City, NY25 contributionsA nice clean beach in Toronto which is a perfect place to spend a nice summer day. There a lot of things to do around like kayaking, swimming, cycling, running or just lie down and relax in front of the clean blue water. There is a well-maintained boardwalk which is great for a stroll and a dedicated bike lane. There are quite a few places nearby to have food, but they are just a quick walk away.
The only challenge here is the limited parking spots. There is street side parking available but difficult to find on a busy day.Written July 1, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I've been to 14 completely different beaches, and they all were special in their own way - but this beach is nothing short of magnificent. Never will you fret about a rogue surfboard in these stunning rollers.
Beach fires (even small ones for cooking) are frowned upon and are also severely illegal. I'd say a sandwich is always a good choice...even if uncooked.
Thank you for your wonder, Bloordale Beach. You bring a smile to my face.Written March 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Angela P17 contributionsCherry beach is great! Although the water is usually too cold to swim in it, it is great for kids and dogs to wade in and play in the sand. There are benches and picnic tables and the bus drops you right there.Written August 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kritika Ratta30 contributionsThe beach is small but beautiful. One has to walk too much to get to the beach and there is a park nearby. It needs some cleaning definitely.Written October 12, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
