What travellers are saying
- Kimagic330 contributionsDentonia Golf Course is our family favourite Golf Course in GTA. Its hilly landscape creates beautiful vistas, and a good workout to walk up and down the hills. Convenient location (next to Victoria Park Subway Station) and special family rates on weekends make us come and play again and again. Great for Families with children and teens.
Friendly and helpful staff.Written November 27, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It really is a fantastic course, considering it is a public city run course. I was very surprised that it was challenging. Front nine are OK, but you need to be prepared for holes 10 - 15. Narrow approach to 12 with water in front is a tough one and you need to place your ball well on your 2nd shot. Also the par 3 on 16 is very challenging because you must make the green, or you will be chipping up a big hill.
Walking the back 9 is tough with lots of ups and downs.
It is hard to get a tee time because it is so popular for a public course.Written July 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. If it isn't busy (i.e. people ahead of you aren't holding you up), you can do 9 holes in about an hour and a half. Mixture of short and long holes. Three sets of 9 holes, North, East and West cleverly laid out. Greens can be rather tricky on this course.
Not a super-expert course. But if you are an average golfer, you probably will have fun on this course.
Staff are usually pretty friendly. If you show up by yourself, they will often pair you with a couple of others.Written June 17, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Regardless of your skill level, this course is enjoyable and has some challenging holes. It is a busy course but between 12:00 noon and 2:00 pm during the week, it is not very busy and you can get through the course in 3 to 3.5 hours. On the weekends, it can be very frustrating since it is usually quite slow so we avoid it then. On Saturdays & Sundays there is Family Night which is a great opportunity to bring your kids for free. It's not very busy then but you do run the risk of being stuck behind a family that isn't playing "best ball". An enjoyable course that we've been playing for over 10 years and plan to continue playing.Written June 4, 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jdelineToronto, Canada104 contributionsI had the opportunity this year to attend a function at this facility and what an experience.
I've lived in Toronto all my life and probably passed by this place never really noticing that it was there nor never knowing how amazingly beautiful it is either. And the service, food etc., were fantastic.
While I wasn't there to play golf, looking out onto the greens and fairways was a beautiful site. Manicured and landscaped to perfection wherever you looked. Gorgeous course.
There were many buildings available for parties and functions which made it feel like you were never crowded nor had to worry about limited space or fighting for space.
Staff were incredibly professional, non-intrusive, prompt and friendly. Rooms, inside and out were lovely, spacious and comfortable. Oh, and the food? Amazing! We had both some prime rib and the most delicious piece of poached sea bass I have ever had. Decadent and rich.
If you're looking for the perfect city location, without feeling like you're in the city, beautiful grounds, fantastic service and amazing food, then I definitely recommend this place.Written October 11, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I have player longer that have taken less time to play. If your going to let the weekend warriors out there, you should give them carts but I get why they don't get them, the cost is to high. single person in cart cost 90 plus to golf a round. The sad part is, I can go to Newmarket, Bowmanville or Burlington and play better course for less. TORONTO parks you need to bring down the cost of this course and other for people who want to play.Written June 8, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Moondoggie1957Woodbridge, Canada580 contributionsWe recently played 18 holes at Royal Woodbine. I must say that the course was in really good condition when we played and it can be attributed to the wet spring/summer we had.
It is a tight golf course and for you to shoot a good score, you need to play smart golf, put your drivers away and hit to the 150 yard markers. For those reasons, I just don't like the course.Written September 5, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. He advised three different camps in Botswana (2) and Zambia (1) which gave diffenent experiences and where a great combination. This is my 3rd safari and although nothing can compete with the first experience (also organized by Mike) and every day is different with something new from wild dog, lions walking through the delta, lions and leopards up trees.,Written October 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
