Three more stops on the way Back to Toronto - Whirlpool Aero Car, Niagara-on-The-Lake (l can recommend the craft ale and ice cream, you will find it there is only one street) and Trius Vineyard all very pretty stops.
We went to a winery at Niagara by the Lake to sample ice wine, took side excursions for great pictures, and spent the day at Niagara Falls.

I recommend doing a tour to the falls if you are travelling from far away (us from Australia) it relives all the effort and pressure for organising it yourself and you can just relax and enjoy.
Enjoyed the trip as solo person and overall places visited , Niagara, worlds biggest whirlpool, smallest Chappel and biggest flower clock and wine tasting
