I took my family to the farm cause we are big fans of cheese.
The farm does regular tours on weekends. We visited on a weekday so I booked a tour in advance. It costs adults $12 per person. My kids were under 7 so they attended for free.
The tour is in French. If you studied a couple of years of high school or uni French, you should be able to manage. The "patron" was very patient and kind. The tour includes a visit to the barn where you can pet the animals. We were able to see pigs, rabbits, ducks, a donkey, and of course lots of goats and sheep. They have a peacock too but you can't interact with it. We were able to sample a good variety of cheese. Our favourite was the brie. Extremely rich and tasty. Our kids liked the cheddar most when we were on the farm but when we got home, they suddenly decided they like the brie much more and didn't like the cheddar anymore. My kids are fickle.
They have a play set with swings so you can entertain the kids while you taste the cheese. My kids played while we waited for the cheese so by the time the tray arrived, they concentrated on eating. They loved the ice cream. My husband and i weren't big fans because this is a very healthy version. We have been spoilt by the sweet commercial versions. This homemade version is creamy but we didn't find it very flavourful. But my kids loved it. They were given mango as a part of the cheese tasting, but we ultimately bought strawberry and chocolate-hazelnut which they devoured.
They have other wonderful products in their freezer for barbecues too - burgers, sausages ... We really wanted to buy them but we weren't returning home the same day so we couldn't. If you live in another province, you will need to bring an ice box/cooler bag. We had a cooler bag so we bought cheese, kept them in the hotel fridge, then stored the cheese in the cooler bag with lots of ice that we got from the hotel. (They usually have ice machines on every floor).
We didn't get to see the production of the cheese up close. We only got to see through a window behind the cashier. So don't expect a factory visit.
We had a splendid time. It's not close to any big attractions but we thought it was worth visiting. You wouldn't stay more than an hour if you don't go on the tour.
